Hi,

I see that I get the message ‘unlocked skin….’ when I deleted an item. However, do I also unlock the skin if I vendor, sell on tp, salvage, or mystic forge, and item?

Vendor/Sell on TP/Mystic Forge: no

About vendor/mystic forge you can right click the item, select “Unlock Skin” then sell to NPC or use on MF, that way you’ll have the skin and still get the item/gold from it.

If you’re just going to vendor an item instead of salvaging it right click on the item and “Unlock Skin” before you vendor.

Got it. Thanks. I did last night, and got tons of new skins. Shame you can’t get the skin if you sell on the TP.

That would be really bad. That way you could buy a legendary (or any other item from TP) and sell it right away to unlock the skin.

Ahh right. Didn’t think of that.

But they could put logic in that you could unlock the skin if it had never been on the TP, couldn’t they?

Well … they could, but add an extra info in every item to track the source of it when you acquire is a lot of data to store and process to do in the servers.
Like if you craft a legendary and then sell on TP the item would need to have stored that was made and not bought, then when someone buy that particular item the source would change from “craft” to “bought”, now imagine that info and the status change to every item craft/drop/bought in the game.

You can buy, unlock, resell many of the items for skins too. You just have to buy the fine instead of the masterwork versions.
