Confused here about crafting
Easy ways to get that kind of stuff…without do crafting….
Farm gold….and go to TP…..and hope u can find items u want in TP. :P
Or make some friends (who u can trust)….find crafting items….and ask them to make it for u. XD

Well. That sounds good and all. But my question kind of went unanswered. Am i at disadvantage?
Yes you are at a disadvantage. You need 400 in 2 crafting professions to make 1 legendary, which two you need is based on the legendary, and its different for each of them, and there are some overlaps.
Regardless though, which crafting profession you need isn’t top priority until you have OVER 525k karma, and 500 or more of the last 4 tiers of metals/wood/cloth, plus a ton of gold.
So basically. Without crafting its useless playing the game?

It depend to u…..it useless or not?
I have 2 question for u….
How much u really need legendary items??
How fast u want to get them??
I know a lot of people who can finnish story….play PVP & WvW without legendary items…..some of them use only rare untill now…..they not even do any crafting…..they still enjoy the game.
If u not rush….u can get them legendary items without do crafting….it take time but u can get them for sure.
We have a many ways to get legendary items…..
The question is…..which way u prefer?? :P

Legendaries are for skins only, they have the same stats as a level 80 exotic, which is infinity cheaper. So if your only point of buying this game was to make a legendary weapons, then yes, playing this game is useless.
No. Im not saying i wanted to play the game only to get legendary’s. Its just the majority of people i’ve been talking to here make it seem like “Do crafting or dont be good”
I think that’s a bit hard to say. I honestly do believe that crafting is a great thing in this game with the discovery and just to see the great artwork they put into all those things. But it’s no that you can’t be good when you don’t do crafting.
So far i have crafted a bit (still low lvl char) and had fun with it, but i could just as easy dismissed that and just continued with exploring and enjoying the game.
That’s just my thoughts, hope they help you a bit.

Don’t let other people tell you how to play the game.
There are advantages to crafting, however. Crafting items gives you XP for example. I’ve read that the journey from 0-400 in one craft gives you about 10 levels of XP. So if you pick, say Leatherworking and Jeweler crafts and level them up as you play, 20 out of 80 levels comes to you purely from crafting items as you explore the world.
Also, you can customize your equipment to some extent by deciding what stats to put into the armor, weapons and accessories you make via crafting. If you need to do more damage you can make equipment with power, if you find yourself dying a lot go for vitality and toughness, etc. Also I’ve found that, at least at lower levels, you don’t get a lot of jewelry so it’s helpful to have Jeweler as a craft so you can make things to buff up your stats.
However, it can become something of a money sink, and a lot of people are happy selling the mats they gather and buying equipment from the TP. I find that crafting my own stuff makes the game easier and more interesting, but it is in no way necessary to craft in order to play or enjoy the game. Do what you like to do, no one else can tell you how to play the game.
You’re at a disadvantage in so far that crafting gives good EXP, so if you don’t craft, you may level a little slower than people who do craft.
Whether your leveling speed or variety matters to you is of course only your own call to make, no one else’s.
