Forgive my noobness here,
I recently came back to guild wars, I played at launch but didn’t get past lvl 10,
This time however I am loving it.
When I hit 30 I think it was, I unlocked my first dungeon.
And the guide said to check group finder which I did,
Since then I keep trying to queue up for them, but everytime I join one, I get asked of leave for not being level 80
I’m a bit confused as I assumed they would be leveling dungeons.
So should I just skip all dungeons till I hit 80?
I’m now 58 and only managed to do one dungeon, the catacombs story mode, because someone in guild offered to run it with me, but since then it’s been a no go, always asked to leave.
Just worried I’m missing out on nice content as I loved doing catacombs.
Sorry again for the noobish question, and thanks in advance for any replies.

The simplest solution for that type of situation is to start your own group.

The simplest solution for that type of situation is to start your own group.

This, just type your level, that you want to learn/have fun and you should get a full group.

Someone suggested that in game, but since I don’t know the dungeons, I assumed trying to lead one would be a very very bad idea, thanks for the advice tho, appreciate it

Don’t need to lead it just start it. Talk in team chat, ask who has done it before, usually someone has. If not just run for the fun of it, AC is not that bad to learn on.

Note that the “story mode” for all dungeons has a lower level threshold than the “explorable mode”. You only unlock explorable mode after completing story mode for the first time.

Note that most people want to do explorable mode with a party of level 80s only, because it is generally harder and more challenging than story mode.
Story mode, however, is very much doable at lower levels. All you need is a group of other players, and you don’t need to someone to explain every encounter (although it does help).

If you advertise to find a party, make sure to list whether you want to do “story” or one of the explorable paths (“p1”, “p2”, “p3”, “p4”).

Like others have said start your own LFG. Put in the description that you are new, and you shouldn’t have many problems. I sometimes even start LFGs using “Training run, noobs only” or something similar to help out those just starting. Also check out the dungeon forums. I think there is a dungeon mentoring group there.

It’s the chain I beat you with until you
recognize my command!”

The other advice here is good. Even if you can’t get a group, you will be level 80 in no time and won’t have a problem getting into groups. You won’t be “missing out” on anything. The dungeons will always be there and eventually you will get to the point of actually being bored with them, so no rush to burn through them.

This is why I think the dungeons need some tweaking. While having tough content in an MMO is fine, what’s not fine is how the game tells players that “you are now ready for dungeons!” at level 30, but when they try to find a group, they tend to get told “you’re not ready. Come back when you’re 80.” Sometimes in much less polite language.

The jump in difficulty for dungeons is also extremely steep, especially for someone who’s only done open world content before. While ANet doesn’t like fracturing the player base, I really do think that general dungeons should be made easier (all enemy types are moved down a scale e.g. from Elites to Veterans), and then a level 80 “Hard Mode” introduced where all mobs are scaled up to 80, are their current rank, and the bosses (and some environmental traps) inflict Agony to give more use to Agony infusions. In exchange, the Hard Mode dungeons give much greater rewards and special titles for completing them.
