Guild Wars 2

So I recently started getting black screens with the cursor and audio still there and it happens maybe every 5 mins and the only way to fix it is to restart and even then it happens again. I have tried to update my drivers, change the nvidia settings, repair gw2, allowed it through firewall and so on but nothing seems to work. help pls.

sounds like your graphics card could be on its way out or the monitor your using sounds like a sync issue if you ask my advice

also make sure your not using beta drivers for your graphics card

this is a brand new pc how would I fix it if its my monitor thats causing the problem?

It’s possible it could just be a driver issue. Make sure your audio/video drivers are up to date, and if they are, it may be that they are just causing issues. I have had more than one instance of new drivers causing me issues, and I had to roll back to the previous versions until they got them working with the next patch.

I had this problem before. Anything that was heavy on the graphics and the screen would black out (GW2 was a big culprit). Normal use (surfing the web, youtube) didn’t make my graphics crash. Sounds similar to what you’re facing- it was ok for about 30 mins of playing and then would black out.

I think what I did was uninstall the last update from my graphics driver and it worked absolutely fine. I’ve updated my nvidia graphics since and everything has been ok. (Exactly what Kreejaffa said).
