Why not make cooking separate from the ‘two professions at a time’?
I’d like to be able to do two ‘equip-able item’ crafting professions, and cooking in addition.
Who else agrees?

I don’t know. I feel like you should have to make that choice. It’s a tough decision, I guess, for some. I went leather/huntsman.

I can see why people would feel that way, as cooking has traditionally been kind of in its own league as a minor tradeskill in other MMOs, but from what I’ve read it really provides a lot of continuously useful benefits at all levels, and the results are probably in steady demand. At least in this game, you don’t lose your progress in your trades if you choose to unlearn them and work on others, so you can still level cooking and pay a small fee later to level other skills. In the end, someone who spends most of their time on a main and feels like grinding can have every tradeskill maxed out.

Personally I like Runescapes approach to crafting, in that every one can do every thing.
I know each game is different and what works for one might not work for another.
(granted it seems like every mmo now follows the same pattern of “You get two.”)

I always thought that’s kind of how the game worked now since you never lose progress in any profession,

the only difference i see is that you have to pay to rotate between professions

Gwaiyn – 80 Thief
Ryfaul – 80 Warrior
Fluene – 80 Mesmer
