I have a friend who would love to play gw2 but he doenst know if his laptop can run it

Nope. Not gonna have enough cpu speed. Also, the GPU is just barely enough.

But the cpu is 400mghz slower than minimum requirements

Graphics data isn’t especially present there, but the ram is very low for this game. A dual core at 1.6 will probably have a difficult time as well. I’m willing to bet his laptop won’t be able to handle the heat either. GW2 is the only game thus far that forces my laptop fan to kick into gear relatively constantly. I use an MSI GT780 DXR, which is a more affordable gaming laptop with some nifty cooling perks built into the actual laptop.

That’s an AMD-based mini-laptop, which are even worse for running games than regular laptops are. Whatever the graphics chip in that is, it won’t be anywhere near strong enough to handle GW2 and neither is the processor. He’s going to have a get a proper machine if he wants to play GW2 and the best choice is a desktop if he wants to play it well (yeah great laptops can run the game well too, but they’re more expensive and are more likely to overheat).

FYI to all, That version of Toshiba Satellite comes with a variety of ATI/nVidia cards, but they’re all 256mb cards

Nope, 1.6GHz is way too slow. I also have a Toshiba Satalite but it’s 2.5GHz (AMD P350?) and runs GW2 fine. Friend’s SoL.

I believe the E-350 AMD’s entry level dual-core “APU” (basically the CPU and GPU share the same silicon) designed to compete with Intel’s “Atom” processor and the related netbook platform.

So the short answer is “No. Not even close.”
