Guild Wars 2

I’m drowning in Bloodstone dust so I decided to craft Mawdrey to get rid of it. Did my first ever Fractal run today (my pug was great and didn’t seem to mind my terrible performance, thanks btw). I got one pristine fractal relic and 5 +1 agony infusions from the run. I know I need 4 more relics but it’s the agony infusions that are confusing me.

The recipe on the wiki lists it as +5 agony infusion (1) and +1 agony infusions (16)

Is it telling me I can use one or the other or does it mean I need 16 to make 1? Or is it something else I haven’t thought of?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You need 16 +1 infusions to make one +5 infusion.

The 16 turn into eight +2 infusions, those turn into four +3 infusions, those into two +4 infusions and then finally two +4 infusions into one +5 one.

You’re probably looking at the “base materials needed” section. The hint you need is that the “16 +1 infusions” line is indented, informing you that those are the parts you need to craft the +5 one. The entire list works that way.
It’s the same for the 250 charged quartz crystals. You need ten of those, each of which is made up of 25 quartz crystals – 10 × 25 = 250.
