I was wondering if anyone who has already built Volcanus could tell me how they did it. It seems like the loadstones and cores would be almost impossible to just try and farm in pve. At the same time it seems like it would cost a fortune to just straight up buy everything. Any help is appreciated, thank you!

I’d guess a lot – possibly even ‘most’ – Lodestones in the game come from combining cores in the Mystic Forge. Its still gonna set you back bigtime (I made infinite Light, all 250 Charged Lodestones, ouch) but its still marginally cheaper than trying to buy lodestones directly. The peppers are actually reasonably farmable – if you like wandering around beating things up plan to gather those yourself.

Farming the lodestones can be a pain. While the cores are cheap in the tp compared to before, the process of transmuting them into lodestones is both tedious and still a bit costly. You’ll need about half of the tp price of Volcanus (could be less/more, depending on if you’re willing to wait for your buy orders) for the cores and elonian wines and a few other materials you may be missing, and loads of excess skill points you don’t mind throwing away for that weapon. If you manage to get all the materials needed, it could take you about an hour or more standing in front of the toilet clicking those cores and wines and crystals etc etc to make the lodestones.

I ran a lot of dungeons, CoF and SE in particular, as you can find Molten and Destroyer lodestones there. For every run you can loot some if you’re lucky enough and cores tend to drop more often.
At the end of every run you get 1.26G, use it to buy Elonian wine. You get tokens too, convert them into dungeon armor to salvage for ectos, which you can sell or salvage for Crystalline dust. You should also have plenty of cores to transmute, buy some off the TP if needed. However this only works if you have a lot of Skill Points…
Good luck on your Volcanus, it’s not that hard and it’s really worth it (still better looking than most legendaries).
