Crafting materials?
are there any karma vendors/ faction vendors/ specialty vendors/ etc that offer T1-4 crafting materials?
(or is the only option to farm mobs and pay gold thru the auction house?)
I had stacks of the stuff but I am realize I will need to purchase lots of materials from the AH to complete my set of ascended…(pricey).
For reasons I hope are obvious, there aren’t any karma vendors that sell mats other than bulk chef supplies (it would be too easy to monetize karma, which would be bad for the economy).
You can buy gear from karma vendors, combine 4 pieces of identical type in the mystic forge and salvage (nearly all of) the results. That’s how people convert cloth crab grabbin’ gloves (in from a heart vendor in Bloodtide) to linen and there’s a similar method for cotton or wool. However, it’s tedious and in my opinion “requires” use of a mystic forge conduit plus copper-fed salvage to make it worth the time invested.
My preference is always to do the content that I like, sell off the stuff I don’t want, and use the gold generated to buy what I do want from the TP. It’s like getting a gift card instead of a sweater from my Great Aunt.
