Q:
Cross server groups? How does that work??
A:
You can invite anyone to a party (or guild) From any server. Character names are unique across all servers, so that’s pretty easy.
You won’t be able to see each other unless 1 of 3 conditions are met.
1. Guesting gets finished. A.Net is working on a feature that will allow them to just hop over to your server and you can play together. It’s not done yet.
2. One of your party is in an Overflow server. You can then all right click on his portrait, and join that member. This will allow you to run about the overflow instance and have lots of fun together. Until you leave that map…..
3. One of your party members enters an Instanced map. These include Dungeons, Personal Stories, and Home Instances. Everyone in the group will recieve a screen pop-up prompting them to enter the instance. WARNING: This does not work for Fractals.
If you want to create or join one of these groups, it’s super simple. You type /invite <playername> Or use the party interface at the top-left of the screen.
It only works for dungeons and, I think, personal story missions.
All you need to do in join the party (which are cross-server) and be in the same zone as the dungeon (like normal) and you can do the dungeon.
No way to do hearts/explore though.
Another thing to note is that this doesn’t work if you try to do it with players on a mix of NA and EU servers. EU players can meet and play with other players from other EU servers in the ways described and the same for NA-NA but you can’t mix the two.
