When you say you get gold from a 3rd party do you mean you buy it from websites?

If so you should be aware that’s not only breaking the User Agreement you accepted when you signed up (meaning you can be banned for it) but in most countries actually illegal too since like everything in the game it’s legally Anet’s intellectual property and no one else is allowed to sell it.

It also puts you at a much, much hider risk of having your account stolen by the gold sellers. They’re surprisingly good at getting peoples login details and any time they decide you’re not profitable enough as a customer they’ll switch to breaking into your account, stripping it of everything valuable to sell to their other customers and then use it for botting until it gets banned or you’re able to get it back.

If a friend is giving it to you in the game then it’s probably ok, although I’d check where they’re getting it from. But anywhere else is just not worth the risks.

I don’t play with the currency exchange stuff, so I can’t help you with that really. But do pay attention to what Danikat said. If you’re buying gold from people or websites, then you’re violating the terms and conditions you agreed to.
