When you install GW2 on a computer, laptop, whatever, do the graphic settings automatically adjust to that device? I’ve been dinking with the overall settings, Auto detect, best perfomance and for best looks. I’m guessing autodetect will find the best settings for your rig, a compromise between performance and looks, or???

I’m not sure exactly how auto-detect works but it seems to aim for a good compromise between performance and looks. For example I get laggy patches if I set it to max and there’s a lot happening on screen, if I pick auto-detect the graphics drop a little bit and the lag dissapears completely.

I’m not sure what it defaults to when you first install but I don’t think it’s the same as you get using auto-detect. I’d recommend playing around with it anyway because however it does it you can probably improve on the default.
