Desperate for help
My advice: install Linux.
If you ever need to use your computer for work or research use Linux where, supposedly, you won’t be able to play. I do this, but my Linux (Ubuntu 14.04) is installed on my notebook.
Depending on your computer knownlegde and how much trust you give your parents/brother/sister/best friend etc.
Move gw into a folder and lock it. Make your trusted person password it and then you wont be able to play untill they give you the password
Hmm, you could try going to a library to study instead. A quiet environment that’s far away from your own computer. Most libraries now have computers there that you can use for study purposes if you need the internet to study.
You might not want to do it, but uninstalling is probably your best bet. If you disable your internet on your computer, you’ll be tempted to hook it back up. If you have someone lock it in a folder with a secret password, you could easily find a way to get it back. And it sounds like you don’t have strong enough will power to make yourself go to the library when it’s time to study or use a computer.
So, I’d say to uninstall. The fact that the game takes so long to download might even help deter you from trying to hop back on and black instead of going to study.
Introduce all of your friends to the game.
I fully understand how compelling a game this is. Probably you do need outside help to block you from playing. But if you can manage the mental flip, remember:
You won’t fall behind if you don’t play. Sure there are some daily things to do but you can afford not to do them. This game is not about getting to the end, it’s about playing as little or much as you like and letting things distract you along the way. All the fun things will still be there after your exams (maybe not Dragonball, but if you’ve played that a little bit you have had the experience). Achievements come with time, don’t worry if you miss out on completing one.
You don’t have to play. You just get to when you want to.
And exams are waaaaay more important than exploring that next cave with a chest at the end of a maze.
(Full disclosure, I speak as someone who is darned lucky the internet didn’t exist when I was in college because no way would I have avoided getting sucked into far too much game play. But as this MMO came much later in life for me, I was easily able to have a career and just play evenings, so I know it’s possible to do things that aren’t GW2).

Anyways, I have the same problem, its mostly that playing the game is more fun compared to studying or other school stuff.
What works for me is to set times, I make ‘normal’ 10am-4pm school days of the study-week, if your school is open, go there, there will be others studying aswell and that (probably) helps. If not, go to a library and study there.
And to make absolutely sure you wont play/ just stay home, tell everyone what you’re going to do, try to get others to go study with you at their place or at yours, exams will be over in a little while unless you fail them now.
As much as it s.. fails.. be tough on yourself like this and make others help you.

Hello guys, I’m desperate for help. I need to pass 7 exams till 15 March, but there is 1 problem, this game. I can’t stop playing it, I dozens of mmo’s and i always had control over them, this means if i needed something to do i just started doing it. But with guild wars something different, for these 2 days that I’ve been playing (yes i’m new) and i can’t do any other things, can’t go to gym, can’t revise books, can’t go out with friends, even though they were asking to go play billiard, and i was like “sorry guys i have to revise subjects, to prepare for exams and kitten (yeah right..)”. And so my first exam will be on Tuesday, and i really really reaaaaaally need some advice from you guys, for how to leave this game for a bit.
p.s no uninstall advises please, this game downloading really long
Create another user account on your PC, give it to a family member and grant them admin rights. Revoke your accounts admin rights and lock out GW2. Done
