I just bought my first Black Lion armor. It is stored in my wardrobe but when I went to destroy the items in my bag inventory it had me confirm I was deleting them by typing the name of the item in a dialogue box. Can I safely delete the icons of the items in my bag without deleting them in my wardrobe? I can’t think of one advantage for keeping them in my bag or bank slots.

Once an item is unlocked in your wardrobe, there’s no way for you to delete it. However, do keep in mind that if you bought armor skins, you’ll be losing your one free application of the skin if you delete the actual item. The skin will still be in your wardrobe though.

Which armor did you buy, out of curiosity? Because if you did buy skins, you do indeed get a free application the first time you use it.

Edit: ALthough, I do believe you don’t get the free application if you choose to “Store in wardrobe” before using said free application.

I bought Phoenix Armor. I just tried double clicking instead of the “use” button on the head skin and it automatically transmuted without a charge. I had the transmutation charges, so no biggie, but I will keep them in case I use them on my mesmer.

You can apply the skins in your inventory for free by double clicking them or right clicking and selecting use.

But they will also be unlocked in the wardrobe automatically, and once something is in there it’s there forever – there is no way to remove it. (IMO this is one of the big advantages of the wardrobe, I don’t have to worry about losing anything I’ve unlocked in there.) But applying the skins from the wardrobe will cost transmutation charges.
