Q:

I haven’t yet received my HoM stuff, so I figured I’d post here to see if anyone knew what I might have done wrong.

I linked my accounts successfully before launch (according to a support technician who confirmed it for me), but when I got in game and since, Kimmes the Historian still doesn’t think I’m enough of a hero to give me anything.

To clarify, all I’ve done for HoM is the initial discovery and placing MOX on the pedestal. I know it’s not very hardcore, but I’d like to see the benefits of at least getting this far and potentially do more later (especially seeing the awesomeness that is some of the heritage armor).

Is there any step I might be missing? Please help, and thanks.

Look on all your characters for a HoM stone, it will teleport you to eye of the north where you can go to the very back and find a vendor who you can grab your rewards from. If none of your characters have the stone try making a new one. I’ve also heard that you can buy the stone from a vendor from Lions Arch if anyone would care to confirm that?

Yeah, you can get the portal stone from Lion’s Arch (said here http://en.support.guildwars2.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/9029 )

but I think he was just saying he couldn’t get anything from the NPC, because he had only put M.O.X. in the HoM. That means you probably don’t have enough points to get anything. If you go to http://hom.guildwars2.com/en/ and type in one of your Guild Wars (the first one, not Guild Wars 2) character names in the top, it’ll tell you what you have unlocked.

The calculator says I have 4 points: 3 from linking the accounts and 1 from placing MOX in the HoM. :\

linking accounts already nets you 3 points, I know because I linked GW1 post release and I was able to get my heritage coat+pants+boots by just creating a character on GW1

If you’re on an EU server try this:

Transfer to a US server (transfers are free at the moment),
Go to the HoM and talk to Kimmes – you should now see the rewards you’ve unlocked (4 pieces of heritage armor in your case),
Transfer back to an EU server,
Visit the HoM again – the rewards should still be there.

That worked for me and since then all new characters I’ve created have had the portal stone in their inventory and I’ve been able to get all the rewards.

Did you even get the stone to unlock?
Cause if not, you’ll need to get that first.

And yes you can still unlock more in HOM if you keep playing Guild Wars.

I had the same problem. I solved that by login into gw 1 and going to the hall of monuments and talking to historian Kimmes there. Select the second option when speaking to him. When next you log in to GW 2 your hall of M achievements should show on your char and when you go to hall of M and talk to the historian you should be able to get your rewards.

I’m having the same issue and its very annoying. I have 6/50, i own EOTN, my accounts are linked (when i check account management).

Talking to Kimmes does nothing.

After two weeks with support and going back and forth for a bit all they keep doing is sending me canned responses of “Make sure you have EOTN installed” and “Make sure your accounts are linked.”

Indeed, in that case there is seriously something wrong. When I asked him it also took me to the calculator and after that everything worked fine. I am sorry it did not work for you. I know how frustrating it is. I only got mine working yesterday, so I’ve been waiting in frustration since head start. I hope you get it working somehow. Good luck
