Difference between PvE and PvP modes
In PvE you are exploring the world with your character.
In PvP you are fighting against players having no advantage over others.
In WvW (which is a PvE, PvP hybrid) you are fighting against players in siege like events with your PvE character.
Thanks a lot for reply. I hope WvW maps are not the same as the sPvP ones?
And what’s the advantage of gaining ranks at PvP over PvE (or vice versa)?
Sorry about asking, I’ve read wiki, but unfortunately there is not so much detailed information about this.
No
Current PvP maps are tuned for 5-8 players per team.
WvW maps (3 identical borderland 1 eternal battlegrounds) are huge in comparison and there are several hundred players battling.
Awesome
I’ll check that. Thanks a lot for information

Gaining ranks in PvP is basically bragging rights. As you gain rank and glory you are getting unique armor and weapon skins as well as different titles you can wear. You will not get any advantage by doing this apart from looking cooler than others.
Another rule is that PvE items and PvP items can’t be mixed. So unlocked PvP gear is only available in PvP. While acquired PvE gear is only usable in PvE and WvW.
WvW is pretty much a HUGE map with forts and buildings on it, there’s even some PvE content. sPvP maps are small in comparison.
I think there are several WvW maps though, I’m not sure, I’ve only been on my server’s borderline. D:

All 3 borderline maps are the same, you just start from a different location.
Eternal battlegrounds is a 3 way attack the Keep in the center style map.
