Hello, I’ve been trying to figure out how to do this achievement. The wiki, and just about everything I’ve found on Google, talks about killing 3 portals. But the Behemoth summons 13 portals, and I don’t see how it’s possible to kill all of them in 20 seconds (that and hardly anyone goes after the back portals). Am I missing something here?

Some time ago he only spawned 3 portals, I did it back then but I assume people have to kill 13 within the time limit now. The only way I can see this happening is by asking guildies to help you with it when he is going to spawn or hoping people in map chat will cooperate when you ask them. You will need to put a few small groups at the portals before they spawn so they can be taken out easily as they have little HP.

This is an interesting question. What is the EXACT wording of the Achievement text?

It’s just “Close the portals opened by shadow behemoth in less than 20 seconds.” Given that statement, you have about 3 to 4 chances on destroying the portals within 20 seconds as Shadow Behemoth spawns them.

One player claimed that the first 13 portals Shadow Behemoth summoned only counted as the achievement. Although I cannot find that claim anywhere on the forums nor Wiki, he is probably bluffing. And he basically said “it was confirmed the day they put out the new update”, which doesn’t mean anything.

To kill them all quickly you’d probably need to have maybe 4-5 groups of players waiting at the portal spawns as soon as they show up. As opposed to the usual, where maybe a dozen players split off from the main zerg and slowly work their way around killing each one in a circle. Ice Bow #4 seems to do a crapton of damage to them (as they do to most things) so you might even be able to get buy with 1-2 people with ice bows per portal.

Sadly, trying to get that many people to do anything other than wait at the SB’s head for the few to clear the portals for them seems fruitless, at least as far as random people go. I’ve been in a few instances where people were attempting to get enough players to move off the zerg spot and take the portals down fast enough, never happens. I guess most of the boss runners already have the achieve and can’t be bothered to move.

The portals that count are the ones AFTER SB spawns, the ones before he pops are a pre event and do not count.

You need to split up and take them down simultaneously, a zerg takes about 35-40 seconds to take them out in the normal 2 path method.

You’re almost guaranteed gold reward if you hit SB or a portal one time so splitting up during his screaming phase isn’t going to cost you anything at all.
