Have you ever looted a exotic item?
I’ve done some of the level 80 areas and haven’t seen a singel exotic drop yet. I’ve seen lots of yellow and green.

So I’m just wondering if you got any yet or is it even possible that random mobs in high level areas drops them?

Do you complete the maps ? because you drop exotic weaps completing the maps

I want to know about the OPs question still though. Do Exotics drops from mobs. IF they do thats great, if not is there any other way to get exotics besides map completions? Event chests have never even given me a yellow, let alone an exotic.

Yes. I 100% the maps and I know you get some exotics in the achivment chest. But that wasn’t my question.

I have picked up yellows from boss raids ( for instance, when doing the shatterer) – exotics on the other hand…. I sure hope so, but am yet to see any!

I’ve had exotics from mobs, only had a couple though and I’ve killed tons of monsters with really high magic find.

You can get exotics by crafting and mystic forge.

That’s lvl 78 exotics, yep you get lvl 78 stuff for the lvl 80 area.

Never gotten exotics from loot, only forging.

I really hope they can be gotten from Mob drops though, PvE isn’t the best for endgame anyway, without the chance of looting such items, well.

I know I see lvl 80 exotics on the AH, so they have to come from somewhere!

Yes they do just drop from mobs. (at least Im 99% certain). BUT it was a mob in a dungeon. It was either CM or TA explorer mode. I hadnt really gotten anything useful prior to on the run, were killing some mobs, and a lvl 62 (I was lvl 62 at the time, so it worked out perfect) exotic pair of pants dropped. It was sick. I linked and everyone in the party was jelly haha. Im lvl 68 now, and every pair of pants ive found since on drops, have been no where near to stats on the exotic. I do know though that once I reach at least 70 Ill find a pair of masterworks or rare thatll probably be better. But the exotic also has a sick major rune on it, thatll ill use my black lions salvage kit to extract it.

Again Im like 99% sure it was a mob (but again a mob in a explorer mode dungeon, maybe it was story mode, but either way a dungeon)

I’ve had a level 78 exotic necklace drop from a mob in one of the bottom 3 end zones, i cant say which. To date it is my only exotic drop, but hopefully that wont continue! Assuming magic find stacks, i normally run around in excess of 100% bonus should that have any bearing on what rarity can drop.

Yes, you can get Exotics from mobs. But again, statistically your chances go way down the further away from common you get. Don’t depend on those drops to make money.
A higher Magic Find can suppliment the odds, but with Magic Find you have to go all or nothing or its not worth sacrificing the stats. In my opinion.

Would love to have an answer on this! Is it just that I’ve been unlucky .. or are they more likely to be rewarded at higher levels?

Try Killing Vets I got lucky once and i got a exotic

I only got one exotic as a drop rather than a map completion. It was from a random Orrian mob during one of the Malchor’s Leap events, and it was a hammer (gave it to a Guardian in guild). They seem exceptionally scarce.

The exotics tend to start once you start completing the level 60+ areas. I got my first two from a map completion when I finished Fireheart Rise.

Of all the exotics I pulled from map completion during my road to 100% world completion, I got a single one I could use, a staff, and it had stats that did not mesh well with my trait setup. I ended up just giving it to a staff/support Ele in guild.

Frustrating, but at least the ones that guild members didn’t want sold for a fair bit.

You guys are all on the right track. Yes you can get exotic level 80 items from mob drops but the chances are very very small. Cursed Shore is the only area where iv found exotic 80 items and theyve always been from either killing a new mob for that day or from champ or veteran drops. Try crafting an armour set, a masterwork grade is good enough and not to expensive, with all magic find and then gem in addittional with platinum doubloons. This will give you the highest chance of finding these drops.

As said before, you can get exotics from mobs. Pretty much anywhere as well if you’re lucky enough. I’ve only gotten them from Cursed Shore and my very first in Fractals Scale 3 I believe with no Magic Find at all. Imagine my surprise :P But yes, I’ve seen people get it from even Queensdale champions such as the boar or troll.

I got my first exotic drop from a risen chicken… ._.’ so yes. Mobs can drop exotics.

I have four 80s, and about 900 hours in game.

Looted two exotics ever, both junk worth the same as a rare or less.
