Does Anet act on reports for guild chat?

No one moderates guild chat. If someone doesn’t like what you say you can get reported and then it will be reviewed but otherwise no one is watching over your shoulder

No, Anet doesn’t monitor guild chats (or any chat, unless they just happen to be around and see something worth moderating). The players basically moderate guild chat. Anet only gets involved if a player reports another player (or players) for what they say in chat.
Edited the topic to try and make it clearer what I’m asking.
I know Anet don’t sit and read everything people write in guild chat to decide if it’s acceptable. What I’m wondering is: If someone was reported for verbal abuse for something they said in guild chat would Anet respond the same way as if it was in say or map chat, or do they take the approach that it’s up to the guild to decide what’s acceptable and to enforce that?

Ahh. That I don’t know for sure. I would THINK that they’d just look at the chat log to put the “offending” comment(s) in context and proceed from there to see if that one particular comment/person was way out of line comparatively.

Unless Anet decides to respond here we can only guess.
My guess is, it does not matter which channel the verbal abuse is happening. They have to monitor somehow them all in case someone goes crazy and starts to promote terrorists or sexual abuse or racism. But I doubt they will actually look through the logs until another player reports the chat first.
Well it is very easy to avoid this by simply don’t write in map or guild chats if you are unsure that people will be offended. If i feel the need to scream out frustration i simply write to friends that i know will not feel to fuzzed about it or i swear here infront of my screan and deal with my own frustration.
As a answer to your question, there are no chat that you are 100% safe in. If you break the rules and a log is sent to a-net there is for sure a chance that you can be banned due to it, hense you should either use your friends or simply don’t use the chat to get rid of your personal frustration.
