Q:
Something I seemed to encounter these past couple evenings while moving systematically through the zones farming the harvestable node farms (ie: strawberries, lettuce, spinach, potato, etc). A few farms went just fine, then I got to the Beetletun Farms lettuce patch in Queensdale and the lettuce simply was not spawned. I had not been there in several days, perhaps weeks on that character and at least two days on any others. (EDIT) It’s late/early, so I log out and come back about 24 hours later. Still no lettuce. (/EDIT) A bug report was submitted and I wandered off to squish spiders and harvest toxic seedlings and then happened to wander back up and lo and behold, the lettuce was spawned. I thanked the appropriate deities in map chat and continued on my way.
Three and a half more farms were successfully harvested (Caledon lettuce patch only half cleared because 6 am and Toxic Alliance).
Gendarran Fields spinach patch is not spawned when I get there. Neither is the Harathi cauliflower patch, except for one single node. I hauled an alt out to both of these patches and was able to collect the spinach and cauliflower on the alt just fine but it was still not spawned on my main when I went back to check.
So my question is this, does the diminishing returns code place some sort of limit on how many ‘farms’ one can visit per character per day? Or is this actually a bug? (If a bug, would appreciate confirmation that it is a bug.)

A:
DR is not supposed to affect gathering nodes.
The cooking material node farm locations do not move. If those are the nodes you’re talking about, you haven’t been there within the previous day, and the nodes are not spawning, it is most likely a bug.

I believe it is once every 24 hrs per character.
If you hadn’t been there in weeks, the nodes moved during the last update. Not all patches ALWAYS spawn at the same place in a zone after an update / zone reset.
In terms of time, most nodes ’reload" resources in 8 hours / character, but there are those (definitely T6 nodes) that take longer (more like 12 hours or longer).
As for you main question, I seem to recall that DR code has been stated as only kicking in for drops from mobs.

Thank you Vick, that’s what I needed confirmation about.
