Does Retaliation work against Conditions ?
Retaliation is stronger than bleeding (~2x). If it’d reflect conditions, you’d most likely kill any bleeder class.
Conditions are “absolute”. They are not affected by Toughness, Protection, Aegis or Retaliation. They don’t trigger “on hit” (neither offensive nor defensive). They can’t crit.
Most things that apply conditions also have a damage component that will trigger retaliation. It would also be a bit surprising if a bunker build didn’t have some ways to deal with conditions. How many stacks are actually sticking to them?
Is this WvW or sPvP?
depending on what your using to apply the conditions you’ll take lots of damage.
For example deathblossom is 3 hits that each trigger it, if your using 1 hit = 1 stack of condition moves and stacking lots of conditions then your also doing lots of regular hits, but the condition damage itself should not be triggering retaliation
Some information on Retaliation:
- it is based on the Guardian’s Attack Power (not their condition damage).
- There is no corelation between the damage output of Retaliation and the damage the guardian recieves. So you can hit them for 1hp of damage and take 300 in return.
- I’m pretty sure Retaliation does not trigger on bleed ticks or any other conditions.
And this is the biggest advice I can give.
What attacks are you using on the guardian? If your skill says “Deals 2000 damage, x10 hits” then all 10 of those hits will total 2000 damage. However you did hit the guardian 10 times. So if the Guardians’ retaliation does 300 each hit…. well…. you took 3000 damage while dealing 2000 damage.
Retaliation only triggers damage dealt. Conditions are not damage dealt, they are health loss.
so google just made me even more confused
