Does anyone use a gaming mouse?
They do make things simpler. You can start out with a cheapy, I much rather prefer skill one clicking with my thumb than clicking it on screen or pressing 1. I use the death adder, only 2 extra buttons but a lot easier for me to maneuver since I tend to get carpel tunnel easily.

I’m using a Logitech g400. And I like it a lot. Only two extra buttons though, but I think it’s enough for gw2. We don’t really need that many binds anyway.
I think it’s awesome to have dodge roll on the mouse. I’d also love to have “interrupt spell casting”. But I couldn’t find anything like that.
But yeah, great mouse, and rather cheap as well.

I have a full fledged naga razr mouse. I don’t use all the buttons though as I got used to using Q, E, R, Z for utilities. It does help a lot.
I highly recommend at least getting one with 4/5 buttons, maybe not the full 12 lol
I got a Logitech G500 for like $70 with some gift card – and I LOVES ITTTT.
I also have the Naga and I love it. I used to play an MMO with many, many more binds needed, and it was still a pain in the neck even with the Naga, but it makes GW2 practically effortless.

the new steelseries mmo mouse (WoW pandaria edition) looks nice….. but the price is too expensive for me…..

sorry..cataclysm edition

get a Deathadder from Razer, can’t go wrong with this for everything you do on your pc
I use a razer naga 2012. Everything gets MUCH better once you learn how to fully utilize it. It takes some time getting used to, but once you’ve got it all down, you’ll never want to stop using it :p

I’d suggest the 6 button mouse from razor. Tbh I have a 12 button and I find it kind of clumsy since I have big hands. I wish all the buttons were shifted closer to the top of the mouse because the buttons next to the mat feel awkward to me.

I’m using the Razer Naga with 12 buttons on the thumb side (rather skillessly) as well as the nostromo. That plus team speak means I don’t use my keyboard much.
I have however taken a break from the mouse for a week recently. Because RSI.
G600
Once you’ve used it you won’t be able to go back. And yes, it’s so much better than the Naga.
I have a 12 button razer but as of the moment, the buttons suddenly stopped working and its just in GW2..
Dota 2 and some other games I play are just fine
I use a Xbox 360 pc controller, works great
I use the naga and it basically has made me unable to play without some sort of gaming mouse. Be careful what you are getting yourself into.
Yes, have Zowie FK which is excellent both for fps games and gw2. I use the side buttons for skills 7-8.
I use the Naga. Honestly, the thing I like most about it is the feel. One year after use and it still amazing me how great it feels. As for the 12 side-buttons, I only make use of two (open/close map and push to talk). Keyboard skill execution feels more comfortable and for me there would be to much of a learning curve to learn any new mouse buttons.
I use a Naga and I cannot imagine not using a Naga or something very similar now. It only took about an hour to get used to the side buttons. I still had to mix in some keybinds for SWTOR but a game like GW2 requires nothing but the mouse buttons.
Another Naga warrior here. Such a fantastic mouse, but I’d rebind your elite to the keyboard as if you’ve got decent sized hands like me, bending your thumb back is a bit uncomfortable!
Another naga user here, I’m surprised its this popular, everyone I know thinks I’m crazy for having so many buttons

I got a Naga about 6 weeks ago. I use 10 of the 12 thumb buttons for skills 1-0 and that’s it. Buttons 11 and 12, and the two buttons behind the scroll wheel are too awkward for me to use for anything that’s left over (though I suppose I could use one of them for the map).
One thing that I have noticed, however, is that I now spam auto-attack for some reason. I just can’t help it and hit that button over and over and over. Poor thing is going to get worn out.

I have 3 skills on mouse wheel (up, down, middle button), another 2 on thumb buttons and i can say the mobility its awesome i dont need to take fingers from WSAD on most of my skills and if i do its on skills like shadow refuge or elite where you dont need control your character that precisely….
I use the Naga as well
1-3 are bound for Utilities
4-7 are Job Profession Mechanic
8 Weapon Swap
9 Target Closest Enemy
10 Hero Panel
11 Inventory
12 Map
I love the mouse and cannot see myself playing without it. I also have a Sidewinder x4 but haven’t gotten around to using it.
Sooner or later, every mmo gamer becomes the Razer Naga.
I can already see the guild requirements:
- mature 18+
- at least 1 lv80 with 2 400 craftings
- mic and speakers with teamspeak, willing to communicate, able to listen
- must have razer Naga !!!
And don’t be a Naga hex cheapskate. Only Naga epics allowed.

I got a 17-buttons Razer Naga (yeah, family and friends think I’m crazy). Took me a while getting used to it, but now it’s part of me. It’s really tough to play with a regular mouse now. Oh, and I only play PvE, but I’m sure gaming mice are even more useful in PvP.
Regarding size: I’m 6’2’’ and have big hands, but I usually hold mice in a claw-like way, and the mouse size was not a problem for me (required a bit of practice, ofc).
Go for it, you’ll love it… but you’ll grow dependant on it, be warned!!
Familia Almadetrueno (ALMA)
Bahía de Baruch (ES)
Oh and be warned that the right mouse button of any mouse including expensive nagas will break sooner rather than later. With a naga at least you can bind that to another one. Got plenty :p

Razer Abyssus. Side buttons are overrated imo, especially in GW2 which has relatively few skills to keybind anyway. Abyssus is cheap and just as awesome in precision and sensitivity as stuff like Naga or Deathadder.
I’m really fond of the Roccat brand.
I use this mouse: Roccat Kone XTD
You can bind any key to one of the many buttons and looks nice as well.
I use Logitech G400, has 2 side buttons and using the software to rebind the 3 dpi buttons to numpad keys. Love it! makes things just a little easier. I’d highly recommend getting one with 2 extra buttons at least:)

I go with the Razer Naga. I wanted to make the switch to the Guild Wars 2 mouse simply coz it was Guild Wars, but I can’t be parted from my Naga. You’ll pry it from my cold, dead hands..
Yeah I use the Logitech G600 as well. It took a bit of getting used to as I’d never tried any other gaming mouse before but now I wouldn’t be without it and its 12 side buttons – thoroughly recommend.

I use a Logitech G600 gaming mouse and it’s amazing.
It has nice ergonomic buttons on the side that fit the thumb perfectly. It’s just such a natural feel when you use it that getting the natural reflexes came very quickly. It’s a fantastic mouse.
I use a Razer Naga with the last 6 buttons on the mouse mapped to the first 6 attacks. I use the mouse wheel click to jump. Don’t use the first 6 buttons at all since it’s impossible to reach them without putting my hand in some weird claw-like contortion. It’s a surprisingly small mouse so if you have particularly large hands it might be worth trying one out in a shop first.

Considering the G600 is basically Logitech stealing Razer’s design, I’d much rather use the original than the clone. By using a G600 you actually bowed before Razer, not Logitech.

Ahh- I don’t know where you live but here Razer has a very bad rep because of build quality and lack of support- if it breaks you can pretty much toss it because you won’t see it again if you send it in.
Logitech on the other hand has no such issues where I live.
Some of my friends have both and tell me that the G600 side buttons are more natural to use but don’t quote me on that.
I know Naga is a popular mouse- I guess it is a matter of preference.
My husband has a Roccat Kone and he hates my mouse..
And boy do I LOVE my G600.

Sure. Makes sense. But by that logic we should all be using Douglas Englebart’s original 1970 design.
The Naga is a piece of crap. Actually I think everything from Razr is extremely bad quality. Logitech is much much better. I had a Naga wireless for about 2-3 weeks and it was broken. I never had this with Logitech. I have now two mouses. The G70 – simple streamlined mouse with almost no lags – even in wireless mode. Never had any problems. Also the Cyborg M.M.O. 7, which looks fancy, I like the pinky rest and the good overview of the buttons. Never had issues.
Razr just tries (unfortunatley) to appeal young gamers with fancy look. Nothing else.

On the topic of Razer Naga’s… did anyone hear anything new about the left-handed version due in 2013?

Nice generalization
1) every product that was ever made can be a “piece of crap” , if you are unlucky and get a bad one
2) Naga is not representative for all Razer products
3) wireless Naga is not even representative for all nagas
Not saying Razer is the best or anything. But what you wrote is just bs.

g400 here too, best mouse I ever bought. Can’t be bothered with all that flash and extra buttons. It does its job, is comfy and reliable.

You’re reight, maybe other Razr products are better. The point is, I never had problems with any Logitech product. And I buy exactly one Razr product and it is broken. I also checked the internet and there were many complaints about the wirelesss one (I don’t like cords).

Just about everyone will tell you to get an overpriced Naga.
How about a CM Storm Inferno? http://www.cmstorm.com/en/products/peripherals/inferno/
Not only quite decent and good quality, It’s pretty kitten cheap.
I bought the G700 Wireles Gaming Mouse from logitech back in october 2012. Not 1 day has gone by where it malfunctioned (also I don’t hit it, so thats a +).
It has 4 buttons for your thumb and 2 buttons + the regular left click for your pointer finger. It makes things much easier because trying to mouse click or key click 6-0 is quite difficult and slow. The best way to use the gaming multi button mouses is bind common skills/actions that are hard to reach in a snap and once you get used to the ease of access, it allows you to feel and play much smoother.
break. I feel like they should be back by now..”
Wired Rat 5. It doesn’t have all the crazy amounts of buttons that other MMO mice have, but then again, I am not playing WoW.
Yes, it is worth it. In fact, using a lesser-being of a mouse for even work is a chore for me now. The mouse is so ergonomic that it doesn’t feel like I am using a mouse at all.
It’s also cheap-ish. $70.
I would also recommend a mechanical keyboard, even a cheapy is better than the normal membrane junk. It has the added bonus of keeping flatmate(s), and VOIP user(s) alike, awake early in the morning with its “clack clack clack”.

Except the clone is so much superior than the original.
1. The mouse allows for other grip style instead of a claw grip.
2. The buttons are shaped differently so the learning cycle is so much faster. There’s zero need to put learning stickers on the buttons because the feel of it tells you what button is.
3. The mouse wheel has left and right tilt
4. There’s a ring finger button that can be used as a modifier key. If you map it as ctrl and push the face 1 button, it becomes ctrl + 1. There’s also a separate mode button that’ll change the mouse to 3 different new set of macros. That’s easily 5 to 6 times the number of mapping you can do vs the naga.
5. Multi color profile on the mouse is standard
6. It’s better built the thumb button paint does not rub off after 6 months. There’s no double click issue like the naga.
7. Doesn’t require a logon razer profile to use it.
I have a RAZER MAMBA (pre-2012 edition) and it works wonders The price tag was abit high ($120 when it first came out if I remember right) but its lasted me a good few years now with no sign of it stopping.

All your points are invalid for following reasons:
1. Never had any problems with grip on the Naga. Maybe that’s me.
2. Didn’t use the learning stickers, Naga layout is pretty good. I don’t even know why they were in the box, apart from Naga being the first ever mouse to have so many buttons. Maybe to counter one-button mac users or something.
3. OK kinda valid but I actually don’t use my mouse wheel at all except for zooming
4. I’m playing GW2, not WoW
5. Being pretty is irrelevant for something that’s primarily a pointing device. While a Ferrari is red (and only red), it’s primary function is to drive fast.
6. All mice have button problems eventually, given the amount of clicks I do daily it’s a wonder any mouse survives more than a year. To stick that onto Razer is dishonest.
7. Playing Fable doesn’t require a Guild Wars acount to use. I don’t see how being logged in to use an MMO mouse is an issue. If you’re offline, you’re not using the mouse. If you’re playing the MMO you bought the mouse for, you’re online. What’s the problem?
