A guildie and I were pondering the other day whether or not swiftness would mean that you fall faster in game.

We considered setting up experiments to try and measure this, but there are some hinderances to getting an accurate measurement. So, I thought I’d ask the wider community if anybody knows the answer.

So, before I start setting up experiments like a crazed asuran- does anybody know if swiftness affects how fast you fall?

It just affects your horizontal movement while falling, not your vertical speed.

Sorry, I saw the answer to this post and the fact that you’re in a guild of “Tinfoil Hats” and lol’d

In seriousness though I think this is accurate because if swiftness effected falling speed then simple jumping while under swiftness’s effects would be kinda weird since it would also effect your vertical jump to where you would jump higher, but land faster/harder too xD

Just a fun thought experiment and likely off base but yea, gravity is a different system

It definitely does not or you would not be able to jump farther or higher(only slightly), which you definitely can.

Swiftness just puts a higher potential number into the physics engine for velocity which has no effect on the static value of gravity. If it did you could fall slower by walking off of cliffs.
