20% chance of recovering upgrades.

I’ve never gotten a sigil, rune or jewel out of an item salvaged with the Basic Salvage Kit. Does it actually have a chance at recovering upgrades or is it actually 0% like the Crude Kit?

Had it happen to me a few times. Problem is that statistics and RNG may not agree at times. But that i mean that even tho you should be able to do it once in every 5 salvage by statistics, you may well go every 10 or more before it actually hits and then hit 2-3 times to make up for the dry spell.

I got upgrades back few times with basic kit but, honestly, I never expected to get them with it.

I think it’s more like 10% chance, but then most equip that i salvage don’t have upgrades. Basic salvage kits is to get mats from low value crap, and not to salvage runes…

If you want to recover upgrades i use black lion kit or if you don’t have one use at least master one.

I never use it on a yellow, except once to see if I’d get an ecto with it (I didn’t).

But I should have gotten upgrades from the lower level junk I’ve salvaged. I’m not hoping for it other than getting one more item to sell.

Is it safe to assume that you’re trying this with green or higher items? I believe that the item must already have an upgrade applied for any salvage kit to have a chance at getting it out. The kits won’t give upgrade items if the upgrade slot is empty.

I use them for white items, vendor blue and green, and black lion kits for rares. This seems to be the best option for profit.

I am the topic creator and yes this goes without saying.

They do give sigils/runes back,though the chance seems to be significantly lower than 20%. More like 5-10%
