Doubt about precursor in the mystic forge.
If all weapons are the same type
I.E 4 Hammers you will get a hammer
If they are a mixture you will get a random pull
Either way enjoy playing the lottery as your odds aren’t that good.
Also
4 Rare = 1 Rare or 1 Exotic
Also
using 4 exotics seems much more expensive but it guarantees an exotic,
so in the end it’s cheaper to use exotics.
don’t gamble while you still can! you’ll get sucked in!

I’ve seen people claim good luck with 3 exotics + 1 Mystic Forge Stone

I tried that 10 times, got nothing good. Small sample size, though. Maybe it’s the ‘secret’ way to get a precursor

The way this is going I think ANet should implement ’Gambler’s Helpline’.

Unless you are very lucky I would imagine it being cheaper to just buy a precursor off TP
If you decide to gample, please try to set aside a set amount of money and stop once you reach the end of it. Never ever gamble away all of it. Obviously it is much easier to recover from your loss with the bulk of your wealth intact.
i’ve spent entirely too much gold on shortbows hoping i’d get that dang precursor, in fact, if i ever do get it from the mystic forge, i’d probably end up spending as much as the precursor sells for

pay attention if you use a mystic stone in the forge as it works as a random weapon and could not give you back the weapon you need.
2 examples
my lucky boyfriend: 3 rare gs + 1 mystic stone = 1 exotic longbow
me: 3 rare staves + 1 mystic stone = 1 rare longbow (not even a nice skin)
Zommoros seems to love bows btw.
when i put 4 green (which is something i always do) rare result is often a bow ora an axe

And that is really a shame. When your character does finally earn their legendary weapon (if ever) it should have been earned by the character, not bought off the TP.
That just kills the experience of your character having a legendary.
Oh look, I have a legendary, yeah, I bought it. Blah.

That’s pretty much the way I feel about it. I’m not all that bothered that others do it, or how hard they are to get. I just don’t want to buy it, I want to get it myself.
Don’t do it mate, you’ll just end up raging. Legendary is a thing of extreme luck.
Who thought “earning” a weapon would come down to a lottery?
The current state of Mystic forge RNG is an absolute joke and Anet won’t get a cent of my money again until it changes.

Gift of Mastery was done right. I actually enjoyed working towards that. Hell, even mystic clovers weren’t that bad. The rest is awfully boring and uninspired.
I agree with the sentiment that there’s nothing legendary about them. i don’t see people with legendaries and think, “wow, that must be a good player” like I would in olden-time MMOs. It’s just kind of ehh, nothing really impressive other than extreme patience.
If you make a goal of grinding your legendary (and likely resort to TP) its not going to feel very legendary…
If you play the game with an eye to the legendary, squirrilling away the bits and pieces while all the time keeping in the back of your mind, you will get it (eventually) and the things you might have done other than farming might actually make the travels of the character feel and seem legendary.
Comparable to being a media wh..kitten instead of an acomplished actor – both get to be on TV but guess which one hasn’t got a broken mindset.

Wise gambler’s credo: only ever gamble what you can afford to lose.
Agreed that there’s nothing legendary about buying a precursor or a whole legendary from the trading post… Anet made a very big mistake allowing them to be obatined that way, and in the process made them rather un-Legendary.
“Obtaining a legendary should be done through legendary feats…
Not luck and credit cards.”

Nope – that is a player mindset issue.
Yes – I am aware of how many times I suggest, and how many players therefore must suffer from, mindet issues.

Everything leads once again to the luck factor.
Have someone who could tell me for sure the exact value of Precursor get a chance to come in mystic forge? Because just saying “is very rare” does not help if you try your luck. Would that be explained as an example "playing 4 items in the mystic forge GS or Trident has X% chance to come to Precursor. Its unfair not know.
In the previous topic I created, I received a reply saying it has 3% chance, but did not mention it was rarer items exotics (ebonblade, corrupt avenger) helps increase the chance of coming.
Once I bought 4 Greatsword of Ascalonian to test and came a GS totally different and I sold for 5gold.
Anyway, thank you all for the answers and will welcome if more information arises.

4 Rare = 1 Rare or 1 Exotic
It should be more like 4 rare= 1 rare or a .003% chance of 1 exotic, because that’s more like what you’re gonna see.
