Why is that if I represent another guild when I come back to my guild my rank is dropped. And how do we prevent this mistake from happening.

Are you leader of the said guild?
If you are not, are you sure you weren’t demoted?

Like SkyShroud said guild leaders and officers control ranks. If you were demoted you’d need to speak to them about why it happened.

Some guilds will adjust or use a different rank to indicate which members are currently representing a different guild.

Yes it is a guild I created and am the leader of, well was before it dropped me to a lower rank.

This isn’t a mechanic that is responsable for this. Are you certain you didn’t do it yourself on accident?? You should be able to see this in the guildlog. If it is saying something Bailey.6892 made promoted someoneelse.1234 to leader you did it yourself.

If the log’s don’t have any information bout this you can contact support. Keep in mind that support does not interfere with internal guild affairs. So if they see it was your own error they can’t do anything for you.

Are you sure you only clicked “Represent” on the other guild and not “Stand Down” first? I have rep’ed another guild and when I returned to mine, was still in the Leader spot.

But it is most likely the stand down feature.

The other guild leader in my guild had this issue too, so we kicked him and re-invited him and that solved it. But this was in august last year.

I checked the logs and no information their. I had actually checked before I posted as it was entirely possible I had made a mistake. Alas it was not an issue on my end. And defiantly did not do the stand down, made sure of that. O well will re promote and see what happens. Hoping it is not the bug from august that was mentioned….would be a long kitten time for anet not to have solved it.
