Dual Monitor Question
I make PvP & WvW videos
You would need to alt-tab out of the game to move the cursor to the other monitor unless you’re running in windowed mode. You can still run something on the other monitor, such as a movie, without any issues.
I run dual monitors with windowed mode on. My mouse moves freely between the game screen and secondary monitor, which is sometimes annoying when my mouse veers off my primary screen during combat, but I’m used to it so it rarely is an issue.
I tend to avoid non-windowed fullscreen because Windows doesn’t like it when you alt-tab too many times (at least Win7 and below… I haven’t tried it in Win10)
I’m with onevstheworld. I vastly prefer free cursor motion so I can quick check web pages and wiki info while the game is active. Sometimes my mouse does go there when I don’t want it to, but not often.
I have my mouse sensitivity way up. It only takes small hand motions to fling my cursor all over. Yet so long as my cursor starts near the middle of the screen, it takes a big enough wrist motion to get over to the second monitor that I can feel it well before I’m off the main screen. You just get used to feeling how far you’re moving, I guess.
If you lose track, hold down the CTRL key. Windows will put a shrinking white circle around your cursor when you release the key. You might have to actively tell Windows to do this … in Ease of Access, I think?
Dual-screen user here. I use action camera as a toggle. That way, if I need to free my cursor for access to the side screen or specific targeting I can switch.
As for cursor location ping (Ctrl), that is enabled in the Windows control panel under “Mouse”, under the “Pointer Options” tab. Bottom option.
(For Win10 users, access the control panel option by right-clicking the Start Menu button or use Win+X for the system menu.)
Part of the [PORT] mystical tour – “Marilee Mangletooth.” What main?
Something something Autechre fanatic.
