Dungeon DR Question
The daily 60 tokens is per character. Therefore, you can do runs with multiple characters getting 60/20 + 60/20 for each unique character after that (can even be swapped at the end so you can do it on low levels).
Thanks for your response. So this means that waiting an hour before doing a dungeon again on the same character that I already got 60+20 tokens on won’t give me the 60 tokens again? How does this work for the exp and silver reward?
Both the 60 and 20 token reward will award the same experience and silver (20 is the “full” amount before DR hits, 60 is the “daily bonus” allotted).
Waiting a full hour (it’s actually 30 minutes, iirc) will allow you to get the 20 tokens again (but in some cases, namely CoF P1), it’s faster to just take the DR than to wait for a full 20 tokens.

“can even be swapped at the end so you can do it on low levels”.
Can you explain this please? I was doing COF the other night and someone switched characters midway during the final boss fight. Is this what you mean? How is this done?
Yes, when the dungeon finishes is when you get the reward, and it’s tied to the character.
So say I have 3 characters.
Bob – Level 80 Guardian.
Joe – Level 75 Warrior.
Tina – Level 20 Thief.
If I complete CoF on Bob, I get 60 tokens. Let’s say I do it again after the first run, now I get my 20 tokens. Now I do it once more, and I start getting hit by DR, so this time I get 10 tokens. Okay, so what I do is I do it one more time, but right as we reach the Effigy (final boss), I swap to Joe.
Joe hasn’t done the dungeon yet today, so when the dungeon is completed (as long as I’m inside the dungeon when it completes), I get the reward. So I get 60 tokens on Joe. Now, Joe is level 76, but the group doesn’t want a 76 Warrior, so I hop back onto Bob.
This time, I get near the end on Bob, then I swap to Tina. Tina hasn’t done the dungeon yet today either, so Tina gets 60 tokens. I hop back onto Bob.
I finish on Bob and get 20 tokens again (DR unkicked in because I was getting the daily allotted).
Wow that was an incredibly clear explanation, lol. For your earlier post, though: When you mentioned a 30 minute wait for DR to wear off: does that just mean that if you complete the dungeon and get 20 tokens, you will get DR if you complete the dungeon (getting the reward) again in less than 30 minutes since you picked up the first reward? For example, say I beat the dungeon and get 20 tokens. I may choose to wait 20 minutes and then enter it and take 12 minutes to beat it (32 minutes since previous completion). So in this case there is no DR right?

Correct. The DR kicks in based on when you’re receiving your current reward as opposed to your last reward. I do believe that DR is account-wide (however the 60 tokens isn’t and bypasses DR, which is what the 60/20 swap is for).
How long on average does it take to get in a group on bob in your example? I rather hate guardians in CoF. Swapping is a great way to get pug groups to rage. Maybe my CoF experiences are unique.
Yes, let’s take the smaller parts of an example literally. If you would like, I’ll replace CoF P1 with Arah P3, happy?
There are bugs when character changing only gives you 30 tokens except you wait a full 5+ minutes before your group joins in the next run.

I don’t think I understand your sentence in any regard. Could you please re-write it for me?

When you do CoF p1 and switch your character and do CoF p1 again you only gain 30 tokens instead of the full 60. I have no idea why but waiting 5+ minutes will allow you to get the full 60.
Ah okay thanks. It could be DR hitting your 60 gain. I’m not entirely sure, because I don’t swap for CoF (only times I have swapped were at AC, which was just to get 60 instead of 20).

Joe hasn’t done the dungeon yet today, so when the dungeon is completed (as long as I’m inside the dungeon when it completes), I get the reward.
Thanks. I understand all this.
What I don’t understand is more the party mechanics in the dungeon. How does Joe even get to the boss stage? Does he have to be in the same map beforehand? Does he need to be reinvited by the rest of the party?
How does he suddenly appear in the dungeon instead of the map he was in? =)
I just tried swapping characters today and still got the full 60 after character swap so it worked fine. Getting 30 tokens must be some sort of glitch but it didn’t happen to me.
Steve,
Joe doesn’t have to be reinvited to the party. When you log out or switch characters, you are still in the same party. Basically, use Bob to do the entire dungeon up until the boss. Use Bob for the boss fight and then when the boss is at about 10%, switch to Joe. When you log into Joe, travel to Fireheart Rise (the map for CoF) though you should just instead have logged out on Joe previously in Fireheart rise so that you don’t have to map travel to it. When Joe loads up into Fireheart Rise, a message will prompt on your screen asking if you want to join the dungeon. Join the dungeon before your team gets the reward and you will be rewarded too. If your team knows that you are going to swap characters, they should hopefully wait until you spawn into the map before killing the boss or else you don’t get credit.
Remember, unlike GW 1, anyone in the party (excluding the person who opened the dungeon) can leave or enter the dungeon at any time and still pick up where the team is and get credit from that point on. If you are the one who opened the instance and you log out to switch characters, you kick your whole team out. Joe doesn’t even have to travel to the boss, he just has to load into the dungeon and doesn’t even have to do anything (which is why people do this with low levels too).

Thanks for taking time to explain. This is very clear now. I’m going to try this!
