Guild Wars 2

OK, so i am now lvl 28 on my main and not having played much because i am new to the game i am a little shall we say confused. Dungeons i am lead to think start at lvl 30, will i get a story line that sends me there automaticaly or do i just que up somehow for the first one and if so how.

Yeah i know im noobish but unless you ask you do not know. How do the dungeons work and how do you make groups in GW2. Any help would be vastly appreciated, thank you

Hey Z, the storyline for dungeons is something that starts as part of your personal story – I don’t want to put any spoilers in just in case you are a lore-hound and like to find these things out for yourself

You will get an email when you turn 30 which basically guides you towards the first dungeon. You can either form a group in Lions Arch or in the map that the dungeon is in (Plains of Ashford in this case) by posting something along the lines or LFG AC Story (=Looking for group Ascalonian Catacombs Story mode). Or as you are a member of the Operation:union group just give us a shout in guild chat and I’m sure we can gather enough people to make a party for you (this works best at the weekend usually).

Edit: Although dungeons are connected to your personal story they aren’t a requirement so if you don’t want to go near a dungeon at 30 that is fine, it won’t interfere with you carrying on with the story chapters. I’ve only just recently started on dungeons now my character is at level 80.

Once you reach 30 you wil get a mail telling you about the dungeon and it’s location. To start the dungeon you will have to get a team of 5 people that want to do story mode as well. This can be quite hard since most people do explorable mode becase it has greater rewards.

Once inside the dungeon you start by following the objectives marked with red stars. During the dungeon you will face ~3 different bosses and a varaity of cutscenes telling the story of a few members of Destiny’s Edge(In this case Rytlock and Eir).

You kill the mobs and kill the bosses, claim your reward and move on to explore the rest of Tyria.

If you’re an NA player just drop a line on the Operation: Union thread. There are folks happy to help with any questions you may have. Most of our dungeon activity happens on Fri to Sun.
