Easiest Profession to Level via WvWvW
I’d imagine it’d be thief just for the escapability, remember that green arrow by your name is an invite for decent players to focus on you though!
[NOX] & [Coma] – Gunnar’s Hold.
warrior, necro or elementalist.
The warrior can easily survive in groups of enemies with some companions.
The necro survives less than warrior but has lots of health.
The elementalist can’t survive in groups but can kill dozens of enemies via fire storm.
However it basically doesn’t matter. You level up by running with your zerg and hitting few enemies.
My first thought was Necromancer. They aren’t really a frontline generally, but they still have alot of survivability. Then you have AoE with your staff which can provide alot of XP from kills. Id recommend going straight for increased mark size in the trait lines. Their initial heal removes conditions so you wouldn’t need to pick up a well for condition removal immediately. Sceptor can also do AoE, or you could build more power with an axe and whichever I definitely prefer the warhorn for swiftness and the 2 second daze.

I would rather go for placeable wells. Somehow the mark size trait doesn’t work for my marks 2, 4 and 5.

it does work when you place them but there is a bug that keeps them from showing as big as they should be before you put them on the ground.

Oh so they’re only shown smaller to me? And I thought they actually were smaller and only the third one is bigger. That explains quite a lot. Thanks.

I agree about the thief. I leveled up mine mostly using WvW and i found it a good choice. Like Markus said being up-leveled you might be picked out so having stealthy and shadow-step skill really helped. Also using the short bow 2 and 4 skills it is easy to tag a lot of people when in a big fight. and on the short bow you have a semi spam-able
shadow step with number 5 skill.

well if your really wanting to level fast in WvW your really looking at a good zerger with some good AoE, necro or ele would seem to be best in those cases.
Thief probably not so good, sure you get the escape mechanisms but you pay for it with not actually being able to do much other than support and tagging, your not really going to be able to roam after soloers (the place thief is best at) as an uplevel and your not going to bring much to a zerg until higher level (outside of clusterbomb spam) and of course an uplevel thief has the least defenses of any uplevel meaning you’ll just melt unless you get in stealth (and hope the enemy is one of those people that stops attacking you the moment you do)
I leveled a Necro and an Ele in wvw. Both are good. Not frontline fighters, but had a good time playing both there.

mesmer and ele from low level imo, necro at a bit higher level
80 warr [Blaze Steelsoul], 80 ele [Blaze Nightstrike], 80 mesmer [Grim Shatterwhirl]
80 guard [Dusk Grimlight], 80 engi [Flintgear]
I already have a 80 Mes and Ele.
I think I’m currently bored with my current 80’s and looking for a new one but I can’t decide which profession is going to work well on WvWvW.
Sure a Thief can roam but I’m not sure what they bring to a Zerg.
Sometimes I think I should have a Heavy but Warrior just doesn’t seem good for much outside of PvE.
Guardian maybe? I’m experimenting with a Bunker Guardian in PvE…..would work in WvW too though. Takes me awhile to kill things, but they can barely touch me.

My vote would be power or condition necro, but you already have two light armor professions. Lots of build options even MM works for some folks. Great in zeros, keep offense and defense. Open field battles are a real hoot.
I took my lvl 30+ thief to WvW and asked to join a roaming havoc group. Was told by 3 different people to come back when I was 80. shrug
With a trap and bow ranger you could help a Zerg, keep offense and defense. Later levels let you start working on a melee build. Lots of options here too.
As said above, warrior and guardian have their place in Zerg and group. Save roaming for higher levels IMO.
