So ‘m fairly new and just recently noticed that the skill Signet of Air, does not seem to work if i’m running Air as one of my Builds and are currently attuned to air. By this i mean that the passive doesn’t seem to function and i lose out on the bonus 25% movement speed. I’m not sure if this is a bug or ANet’s attempt to keep the class from just zipping around with a bunch of movement speed bonus passives. (basically i think the passive movement speed bonus from the build negates the passive movement speed bonus from the signet.

So basic question is, has this always been the case? Is that how it is intended to work, or is there just just an issue with the coding that hopefully can be fixed in a patch (hot fix?)

movement speed increases do not stack with each other, only the greatest value takes effect. this is true across the board, not just with elementalist skills/traits.

so, if you are using signet of air, and you give yourself speed. you will only get the speed buff (33%) and signet of air will be ignored for the duration of the buff. signet of air and zephyr’s speed both give 25%, so one will be ignored for the other, as only one can be applied.

this has always been the case.
