End game character first time
Easy melee professions = warrior, guardian, revenant, ranger. In that order.
You should also try not to dislike an entire weapon because it plays differently on every profession. For example a staff on an ele could be a magical AoE glass cannon, a staff on a druid is a healing machine, and a staff on a revenant is a PvP evasive melee bruiser.
Mes/Chrono is somewhat weak against trash mobs but strong in 1v1 since all of our clones/phan shatter upon 1 trash mob die, well wont help much, and please dont dislike the greatsword its a great weapon for mes.
Same for DD you either kill quick or you might get killed
Don’t force yourself to play melee especialy HoT areas this only bring you more struggle in fights.
All heavy class is good for surviving at end game just pick one but i recommend either Guard or Rev.
About your playstyle i think Necro/Reaper will fit you the most, Reaper is one of the best melee fighter in this game so far.
Gz on lvl80!
you should try necromancer/reaper it is a good mix of ranged and melee and has the largest healthpool of all professions
They just don’t die and dish out good damage
Revenant is also awesome for Pve, Sword/axe + staff are very high in dps while still good at surviving
Engi is more complex to play but great if you get the hang of it (has lots of skills)
You don’t have to switch to a different character. You can use a set of gear that has some defensive stats (like Soldier, Dire, Carrion, Rabid, Knight, Valkyrie, etc) and use that until you get used to using the various active defenses (evading, blocks, blinds, immobilize, chill, cripple, etc) and the boons that help with sustainability (regen, protection, aegis). All classes work fine at higher levels, this game just uses more active rather than passive defenses, and speaking from experience, that can take a little getting used to. Been playing for a year, and I’m still working on it (though I didn’t focus on one or two classes either, so there’s that).
