Engi or Ele (Compulsively Indecisive)
Right forum, tricky question.
Ele might have an edge. It is more desired speed running, but if you don’t care about seconds both are good.
Perma speed on engie is cool for roaming.
Sorry to say but it is a personal thing and very much your call.
Not at the skill level nor dedication where I will end up setting new records unfortunately for runs! A few seconds either way isn’t the end of the world.
I was afraid that it might be purely down to personal preference! Kitten
Cheers anyway Yargesh
Np, gl
.
Yargesh, one last thing: regarding question 1 – which of those two would you prefer?
For fun factor I enjoy ele more. Overall survival and utility engi.
Ok cheers that does help
In my experience running dungeons a lot, elementalists are a lot more desired thanks to their really high damage + might/fury generation + ice bow. That said, a good engineer is also valuable (vulnerability, ability to fill most gaps in party comp), just not quite as wanted for speedclears. Ele is also WvW zerg meta IIRC, while engineer shines more in roaming.
That said, I personally find engie a lot more fun to play, and mastering kit rotation for maximum damage while not dying from being distracted juggling is very rewarding :P
Hey jackaljag, I may well jump onto my ele if needs be for a dungeon but in the end (despite recommendations from players and my guild!) I will focus on my engi. May not be the most optimal choice but feel more ‘locked in’ for ele based on rations for each weapon set.
Mostly go necro for WvW, but just for fun, blowing up things everywhere is keeping my interest for the time being!
Cheers all
Hey, on the WvW side of things both are good. Engis are better for roaming imo, because of their great disengage abilities, and in small squads their cc is insane. On the other hand a staff ele has some good team utilities. I really comes down to what play style you like the most. Elementalist in mostly about rotations, while on engineers it’s about using the right tool at the right moment, which makes the engi game play less predictable, but it then requires more practice.
Hey Sorel, sorry about the late response (and necroing my old thread!)
Cheers for the response. Have decided to focus on engi as roaming and small group is more fun to me than zergs.
Will just have to practice to become half decent
Thanks again for the advice guys!
