Guild Wars 2

I went back to the story in Caudicus Manor to collect all the pages. After all fights I was ported back to the room with the fireplace. The NPC’s disappeared into a port that I could not use. Now, all the doors dowstairs, that I need, are locked. All it says is “Enter Caudicus’s chamber,”and there is a green oval but I’ve searched every room/hallway in that oval and can’t find it. I have no clue how to get there.

while looking at the fireplace, go up the stairs to the left of the fireplace, the chamber door (which is open at that point) is up there.
