I played a long time ago around release so I’m a little fuzzy on the best course of action for my new 80 Warrior. I’m trying to avoid a situation where I spend time/money to gear him only to realize I should have done something differently.

Rings, necklace, earrings:
I have 70ish Laurels. Should I buy some ascended versions of these or craft Exotics?
Seems like it might be better to get the bandit necklace and then switch the stats to Berserkers?

Regarding ascended slots, offensive or defensive or utility?

Armor:
Farm for the Blood required for Berserkers or farm something else and just buy the blood? Or (insert other option). I could buy karma gear but then I can’t salvage it right? So I lose that benefit as well as any any armor Runes I’ve slotted. Speaking of which…

Superior Rune of Strength… how do I find these besides shelling out 15g each?
Is the mystic forge an option? I’m not clear on how it works with Runes.

The stat switching thing is just for weapons and armor, not trinkets.

Offensive or defensive doesn’t really matter unless you plan on using the very expensive infusions. In the end you usually end up with one of each anyway because of the “unique” stat on the trinkets. That stat means you can’t equip two with the same name.

For armor you could get them from dungeons or the pvp dungeon tracks. Citadel of Flames, Crucible of Eternity and Arah have berserker gear.

Only bother with ascended gear, if you are planning on doing high level fractals, and or, are thinking about making alts that will use the same gear/armor/weapons. If you are not, then its not really worth spending the laurels on them. You would be better of using them to buy the T6 mat bags and selling the.mats on the TP. But if you want a long turn goal, ascended gear is a good one to go for.

They’re a pretty good long-term grind goal if you have nothing better to do. But I agree, just slotting Exotics is good enough for the most part.

I would highly suggest going for Ascended over a Legendary simply because, unless you got lucky with a Precursor, you’re going to spend more on that alone than on a full Ascended set of equipment.

^this, unless you really like the skin, Legendry’s are not worth it.

And try to look at Legendaries as just a skin and not a “ooh shiny skin with particles” because there are plenty of other skins with particles that are much, much, much, much cheaper (and a few that are just as pricey!)

Runes are subjective. It all depends on what you want from them. I personally go for mad king runes.

I have the good old phalanx build. I run this build in any part of PVE and i have not run into trouble.

I have full sets of crafted beserker gear and use the hoelbrak ruin . it gives might and stability.

This means im always alive to drop my battlestandard and get the glas cannons up. The people that says " GO full dps " has not realized you cant kill much by sitting down throwing rocks at it .

Berserker gear is full DPS. Warriors have some good base survivability with the highest base HP,highest armor, and a good healing signet
