It seems I have a glider in my inventory under glider skins, my character has just finished glider training. When I click on the glider skin it shows my character wearing/flying the glider. How do I get the character to wear the glider in game so it can fly with it please?

If you have the mastery xp filled and the point spent to unlock it the default skin will automatically equip. Just have to jump off a cliff and hit your jump again. If you’re talking about wearing a glider/wing set as you’re running around that would be a back piece skin you would have to transmute like any other piece of armor.

The Equipment tab of the hero panel opens with a “paper doll” model of the character and, to the left, a set of eight interface options: Equipment, Wardrobe, Dyes, Outfits, Miniatures, Finishers, Mail Carriers, and Glider Skins

go Hero Panel then at the top choose the option glider skins. Select the glider from the glider skins wardrobe.

You will also auto-deploy the glider if you jump off a height and keep the space bar pressed down (or if you get launched from a platform or mushroom, hold the space bar down to glide from the top of your arc).

Gliding will not work in instances or in/near several JPs. At the JPs you will get a little airship sort of icon in your buff bar and on mouseover will see that gliding is disabled there, so you will splat if you don’t notice that.

If you’re in the middle of gliding and you’re in proximity of a minidungeon/JP that disallows gliding you will receive this message at center in red:

“You are entering a no-fly zone. Land or turn around now.”

Continuing into the zone will force you to stow your glider and you’ll drop. It’s usually a small threshold before it forces your glider to stow so you can turn the camera opposite before that happens.

Upon unlocking Glider Basics, you automatically also unlock and equip the Basic Glider. Holding the jump key (default: SPACE) with enough height in the air will deploy the glider. Press the jump key during gliding to stow. Useful if you don’t want to go far, but want to make a considerable drop safely — or once bouncing mushrooms are unlocked, hitting a mushroom to be launched.

The “Gliders” tab allows you to change the appearance of your glider, however appearances are generally unlocked via Gem Store or Black Lion Chest via specific item roll or Guaranteed Wardrobe Unlock.

As for wings on the back? Certain style combos (e.g. “Moth Wings Combo”) not only give you the certain glider (“Moth Wings Glider”) but the associated backpiece as well which is equipped under Wardrobe and chosen as the back slot. There are standalone backpieces as well, same criteria as above.
