Why would you need exotics at level 45?

hey Tommytoons! where’ve you been getting your exotics so early on?
anyways, i think at this point, just keep leveling up to 80 first, and then you can worry about exotics then. but it doesn’t hurt to plan ahead ; ))

you can check out Dulfy’s gearing guide as i feel it gives a really good rundown. then you can choose your stats, and see where y ou can acquire them and slowly work towards it.

so essentially for exotics you can get them via: dungeon tokens, crafting and also karma (Temple vendors), and of course, drops : )) completing high level maps also give a few exotics pieces, but of course, you don’t pick what you get.. hope i’m not missing anything!

As Catinka said, Exotics are a bit excessive for a level 45 character. At your level, you should probably be aiming for Masterworks as a baseline, although Fine armor can still serve in a pinch. Ideally you’ll want to be decked out in Rares from level 50 onwards, but you don’t really need to worry about equipping Exotics until you’re level 70+, in my opinion.

The runes only change the stats from the rune and not from the item itself, you could only change that by transmuting the item with another level 80 exotic if you want to keep the look.

also note: the only way to change runes is to replace it with new ones. i.e. the existing /slotted ones will be lost.
