Guild Wars 2

Hi all. So, here’s today’s problem… I’m new to the game, playing for a month or so, and with my Mesmer I’m trying to explore all the starting areas. Now, I obtained 100% World Completion for almost all of them, but browsing the Achievement Panel today I noticed that the Exploration Achievements like Shiverpeak Explorer appear completed, but with a 47/50 under it. Now… what’s that about? I checked the wiki map of the only location I’ve explored in Shiverpeak Mountains so far, Wayfarer Foothills, but in any case it only marks 30 or so areas…

And I can’t find an unexplored one anyway… Any advice for a true 100% map completion?

Explorer achievements are about named areas that you unfog e.g. Taigan Groves or The Icesteppes. Many of those do not have map completion content (not POIs or vistas or whatnot) so they’re easy to skip.

Keep in mind that 50 is just the first tier of those achievements. In total each region ends up having ~160-175 areas needed for the respective explorer achievement, because you need to unfog every map in that region.

To be a little more clear, I don’t understand what that X/50 refers to

The x/50 means you’ve uncovered x of 50 areas in that region. For 100% complete you need to do all of the hearts, skill challenges, waypoints, points of interest, vistas, etc. in the game. When you 100% complete an area you will get a chest, your map legend should indicate if you’ve gotten it yet when you’re in that area. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Map_completion

I did all of that and obtained 100% map completion, this is about the Exploration Achievement, that for some reason still marks 47/50 :/

See all those outlined areas? You have to have “discovered” each of them. On some maps those regions are underground.
