Guild Wars 2

After the most recent update, the majority of the map areas now show that I have completed them. As, Krytan Explorer areas listed 175/178 before the update, it is now 175/175. It appears there were areas that never existed and/or miscounted during the initial release of the game.

My issue is that, now, Maguuma Exploration and Shiverpeaks Exploration are now stuck at 163/165 (Maguuma,) and 170/172 (Shiverpeaks.) However I do have 100% World Map completion… in another thread I have seen a person with 172/172 Shiverpeaks completion. The result is that I feel like these areas do truly exist, but I am missing them.

Does anyone have any ideas for where these 4 areas may be?

I have completed all of the Puzzle areas.

same stuff..i had missing like 3-4 in each zone…after the fix I’m missing 1-2 in Shiverpeaks and MAguuma.

Same for me as well, though I lack 3 in maguuma and 3 in shiverpeaks… If anyone has everything in Maguuma or Shiverpeaks, could they perhaps upload their maps, so we can check them up against our own?

Well, I just completed my Maguuma one, and I have a little tip that MIGHT help you: Mount Maelstrom. Two of my three areas were around the volcano, and kinda looked like the map was supposed to be that way, but also kinda looked abit “unreavealed” to me. So, try taking a look at that volcano, it might help :P

I found one hidden area in Maguuma that I didn’t have, so now I’m at 171/172.

I’ll try looking around Mount Maelstorm.

Edit: Nothing out of the ordinary… Hm. :I

Edit #2: I found the 2 of Shiverpeaks at the very South-Western area of Timberline Falls. I’ll keep searching for the last Maguuma area.

In my attempts to find such a hidden area in Maelstorm, I have found a way to fall off the entire map. Sadly, this hidden area, does not uncover more map.

Even now that I have successfully finished every single map and area, I’m stuck at 97% & 98% when it comes to “Been There, Done That,” and Account Map Completion.

I wonder why.

Yep same here, I guess they fixed explorer’s succes but not the 100% map exploration succes and the title.

You’re a hero. I was missing 2 in Maguuma (aurora and …) and 1 in shiverpeak (serpent’s).

Great to finally have these done, greatly appreciated.

Edit: Geo didn’t count for me, didn’t have it, do now, but still stuck at 164/165.

Guess I need to search more.

So I’m missing one in shiverpeaks now 171/172.. I can’t find even with all the above suggestions. I tried looking at each map’s name individually comparing with the wiki maps and I have them all..

Check for blurred spots on your map, anything that looks suspicious is worth looking at.

That’s what I’m trying but the only blurred spot I seem to find is between Lornor’s Pass and Bloodtide Coast and it seems like we can’t go there and on every map I see it’s blurred..

The acces is by the water, since it’s a puzzle jump area, videos are available.

Except this one, I don’t remember others areas too hard to find, comparing with the wiki should work.

Oh thanks I thought it wasnt a zone since every map I looked the palce was blurred!

Bit of a tip to everyone. The maps on the wiki don’t have every area explored just yet, but the lists of the “locations” (e.g. Clax’s Hideout) are correct as far as I’ve seen. I was able to get 100% exploration in each area (e.g. Maguuma) with the lists from the wiki. Now if only they’d fix the skill point near Bayt Fallahin…

I feel like I’m the only person missing spots in Kryta, missing 2. Guess I’ve got to keep scouring that map.

Let me say on the issue of not getting 100% exploration rewards; They changed chantry of secrets to be its own map, if you got this poi earlier, then you have to go back and reget it, then you’ll be done. Course if the issue is that you’re stuck on a few poi’s and didnt notice, that doesnt help. Im also trying for my 100% map (as opposed to just getting all pois/vistas/sp’s, so this post helps me too.

Anyone know how to get that big chunk of cave looking area in Harathi Hinterlands? It’s right above High Timber Claim, been hugging the wall for a while now.

Its called The Artesian Waters and you will first get in there as a part of the story at level 80, in the mission called The Source of Orr

What exactly is needed for 100% map completion?
I have 100% world completion and all 5 main areas are marked as fully explored after this fix (was missing only 2 from jumping puzzles).

What I’m MISSING right now: 60% of the puzzle achievements, walking inside (and completing) 5 of the dungeons in story mode, walking inside and completing all 8 dungeons in all 3 explorable “versions”, doing the last personal story quest (this means I’m missing some PoI in CM and other dungeons, do those count?).

I’m still at 97% map, and I would like to know which of the stuff I didn’t do will fix this (so I can know what can be skipped for someone rushing to 100% map).

Okay, so I scoured and scoured, and I found them all (except Orr, just starting now that I’ve found my missing ones for everything else.). I just found my last place for Maguuma, The Serpentwind, and my Acheivement didn’t change, it stayed 164/165…
Is anyone else having this issue?

-EDIT- Spoke too soon, found Shimmerstone Cave in Sparkfly Fen. Now thats Kryta, Ascalon, Maguuma, and Shiverspeak Explorer Done. Just need Orr.

orr expl 59/60 done all the puzzles – what i’m missing ?(

Tell me one thing…
I have all five regions fully explored (Ascalon, Kryta, Orr, Shiverpeaks, Maguma), 100% of every single map (including WvWvW), BUT i still have 97% map completion medal… I had 97% even before i finished explorer achievements. Is this bugged too or am i missing something?
What else is counting to Map completion reward.
Also i got 2 Gifts of Explorationafter visiting Chantry of Secrets (That was the final thing that left in kryta for me), but i did not get any rewards for completing other regions, maybe thats because i got some of them before patch?
When i got reward (Those gifts i mentioned) they were under achievement icon looking right like the icon of world completion medal. It is confusing to me now, i dont know what is what now.

Please help me i miss only one area in far shiverpeaks, i have most of the “secret area” you mentioned before, my problem is that there is still a normal area with no poi, vista, or else i don’t find… I got 100% on every map…i didn’t find a blurry spot or something, dunno where to search please if you have in map something you think it’s a bit difficult to find like a little cave, a tiny spot on far shiverpeak’s map please tell me, i just go crazy! Just list what you think it may be, so i can check…also i can say apart of this one that there aren’t any bugs, if you didn’t have the achievement meand you didn’t find the spot, so far i got everithing else…

I posted it in Player Helping Players but none reply, which is driving me mad… But it also seems like a bug…

As I wrote on the other topic the thing that bothers me is that I had 171/174 areas done in my achievements log and then, after discovering four more (which will lead me over total number and seems like a bug!) I got only 173/174 areas. Anyone have any idea what’s wrong? Last four discovered areas were Shamans Rookery, Ulukk’s Hunger, Lair of the Coil and Griffonrook Run.

Anyone had same problems and solved it somehow?

Necro, I’m having the same problem for Shiverpeaks, I was stuck at 171/174. A comparison to a complete map showed I needed Griffonrook Run, Lair of the Serpent, and Ulukk’s Hunger, got all three but it only bumped me to 173/174. I’m at a loss.

I believe the required areas were updated for the Halloween patch, but there’s not a lot of folks complaining about this, so I’m beginning to suspect a fairly recent bug was introduced somewhere, but I do hope I’m wrong.

Got Lair of the Coil, Griffon Rook and Ulukk’s Hunger and I am at a loss.

I have now achieved both the explorations and the gold star. I did my best to find things on my own, but once stuck I used

and put up the zone map on my other monitor, then carefully compared my game map with the zone map. For the explorations you need to find all the white names, and there are a couple that aren’t on the website. Griffonrook run was one, and the Asura jump puzzle in nw Maelstrom was another.

I also used http://pandemos.org/forums/629668 though when a patch added some locations to the achieve this did not get updated. Still, there may be something on there you haven’t seen. If so, google its name from the list and you’ll get directions (that’s how I found out about Griffonrook).

A quick update, apparently a jumping puzzle in Dredgehaunt Cliffs is part of the explorer achievement, which I didn’t have. Go to Wyrmblood Waypoint and walk west over to the ruins, it will start a chain quest to get you in. I was lucky and someone was already doing it, so I was able walk right in.

Note, once you enter, this puzzle area will not show as a white zone on your map after you enter it, but it will help you get to 174/174…..

Ah yes that one in Dredgehaunt, hoo boy. I went to the NPC to start it and he just ignored me and wouldn’t let me read his books. Fortunately someone else showed up at that moment and started it, so in I went. I fumbled around in the dark, jumped poorly, and never found a single trap lever to pull, but was useful in combat since even downscaled an 80 is pretty tough there. Then just as we were on the final boss the server reset was announced! We killed the boss and looted the chest with 15 seconds to spare.

I am also having difficulty with discovering the last 2% of Maguuma and Shiverpeak areas. I’ve already achieved 100% World Map Completion. Comparing my map to the areas listed in the comments, the only one I seemed to be missing was Ulukk’s Hunger, which bumped Shiverpeaks up from 95% to 98% when I entered the caves for its mini dungeon found at Wyrmblood Waypoint. Do I need to do more jumping puzzles, dungeons, both, or something else I’m not thinking of? If yes to puzzles, could you let me know which ones or post a link with their locations if possible, please? Thanks so much! I really appreciate the help
