I just want to know the basic way of getting gold here. For example, should I be spending all the bandit crests on buying bandit chest keys and with those keys I open bandit chests? Is that how most people make gold here?

What I’m thinking the process is this:

Do quests > Get bandit crests > Buy keys > Kill the final boss > Open chests and make gold

Basically, yes. You’ll get shovels+keys just by doing quests too.

That’s basically right.

But you’re unlikely to find a map where people are doing the events and chest farming at the same time because it’s not really possible for the same people to do both (or at least not to do them well). More likely the map will be focused on either events or chests.

Or they might do a quick chest farm in the 10 minutes or so between the Vinewraith event ending and the map resetting.

I tend to just do the maps that are progressing the events, since each event success gives me some stuff to open and the final boss is a nice payout along with the four bandit chests that are right there to unlock anyway. Plus I’ve gotten a bit of a memory bank of where some of those chests are anyway so I might stop and pick one up if I’m running by.
