Farming ?! what about Farming ?
Farming sux, because developer nerf farming hard to protect against BOT.
After you killing several mobs – they stop drop loot at all.

Thats not really correct. If you farm mobs you mostly do it for crafting mats, and they are not affected by the diminishing return. You only get less blue/green crap items after a while.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
In games like GW2 (which don’t feature actual farming by planting crops or raising livestock) farming means finding a particular area, type of enemy etc. and killing them repeatedly to get good drops.
This can be either a particular item. For example are currently farming fossilized insects in Dry Top by gathering geodes, buying lockpicks and opening lots of chests. They might only get 1 insect and then stop but it’s still a type of farming.
Or it might be to get a lot of a particular item, in this game usually crafting materials. For example I often go around a mid-level map gathering iron, platinum and gold because I need iron and plat for crafting and gold ore sells for quite a bit (relatively to the effort required to get it).
Or they might just be trying to get a lot of any kind of drop. The champ trains (now in Frostgorge and Orr I think) are a good example of this. You don’t get a lot of gold directly from killing the champions but once you sell the items and crafting materials you get it can add up to quite a lot.
If you’re just wanting money the best option is probably to farm dungeons (by doing lots of paths as quickly as you can).
But I’d strongly recommend getting to level 80 first, if you haven’t already. Both because it makes it easier and because any kind of farming is pretty boring and it’s a good idea to get an idea of what the game actually has to offer first.

Farming. Hmph.
Farming a certain type of mob over and over as they re-spawn in a certain location
- Does not exist in GW2 in the same way as other games.
Farming dungeons
- Essentially involves running the most time efficient runs of the most time efficient paths daily for the base gold reward, tokens, chests and any drops a long the way (mats, rares, exotics). Probably the best way we currently have to make gold. Here is a list of the paths that are considered a ‘daily farm’ for most: AC all paths, TA all but aether, CoF P1+P2, SE P1+P3, HotW P1. CM is optional, but I can find PUGing it can be difficult. I only recommend doing Arah with people who understand you are inexperienced at it and are willing to teach (guildies, friends). Arah is unforgiving and PUGing it will probably be a difficult experience.
Farming champions
- Mainly done in Cursed Shore now, this involves following events that include champions in order to get their champion boxes. There is often a commander in Cursed Shore to lead it. There are several routes taken by different commanders. I find the Cursed Shore champ farm quite enjoyable and profitable. I get a decent hand full of rares and T6 mats. There is also a Frostgorge Sound champ farm, but I haven’t done it in a while and not sure how it’s changed.
Whether you find farming fun or not is up to you. Farming is a form of grinding, and although some may find the idea of doing the same dungeon paths every single day a nightmare, I quite enjoy it. Champ farm is a little more… enjoyable than dungeon farming simply because you’re not stuck in an instance, and it’s up to you (and maybe how long the commander sticks around) for how long you want to spend doing it.
Note: As mentioned above, lvl 80 is necessary for efficient farming. You’re losing out by not being lvl 80 on max level rares and exotics, and essentially any drops only available to higher leveled characters.

Hmmm .. i have spent quite a lot of hours farming Arctodus in Frostgorge for T6 mats.
Other prefer Karka, Skelks, Barracudas or whatever ..

Karka give you a unique material so that’s understandable. I don’t believe farming a mob type works quite as well here as other games. There are other ways to get T6 mats that can be yielding you more of other things whilst you do it (gold, rares). I don’t know the numbers on this but I don’t think there’s really an efficient way to do it in GW2. The Sparks in Malchor’s drop charged lodestones, but there’s no way I’m going to sit there killing them all knowing I’m probably just as likely to get charge lodestones from CoE.
As posted previously, material drops are NOT effected by DR (Diminishing Return) code….only equipment drops and other loot. Karma from local events is also effected (but only if you continually repeat the same events in the same zone).
It is not difficult to rotate zones and avoid DR altogether, but in general there are other activities in the game that are potentially more lucrative than this type of “farming”. When other players mention “farming” gold, they encompass a LOT of potential activities in order to earn gold as the final reward (a good many are listed above).

I am trying to farm Vial of Powerful Blood and notice this fact.
First kill of Young Karka – always drop mats, next 10-15-20 kill no mats drop at all.
So you have to change location or wait a bit for get next loot.

Thats just the “normal” RNG. I have farmed Arctodus sometime last year for nearly 8 hours one day and noticed the number of T6 mats after every 30 minutes .. and in the end because of RNG it was maybe between 2 and 15 in 30 minutes, but i could find 2 in the first 30 minutes and 15 after 8 hours.

When I gathered mats for levelling crafting, I got the same impression. The first kill of a new creature type usually had a much higher chance to drop mats than the next few. But it would need controlled experiements to verify that, could be just selective memory too.
Anyway, I found bats (and minotaurs) to be good blood sources, so the ones in Frostgorge Sound should do (if at least level 78) for Powerful Blood – they should drop faster than Young Karkas. But didn´t try that myself, got my Powerful Blood from random risen in Cursed Shores (but that is mixed mats).
As for general mindless zerg farming, Edge of the Mists seems to be used for that a lot lately.
hey guys i’m trying to know everything about farming because i was told that it gives u a good amount of gold everytime ! also i’m a new player u can add me if u can help me ^^
The key to farming in GW2 now we have megaserver and champ train nerfs is maximizing your number of kills per hour.
The more kills per hour, the more drops you get and the more drops, the more likely a few will be rares. I recommend if you farm this way, you do it in high level zones so your rares and mats are more likely high level as well.
If you decide to farm this way, here are some tips:
1. Make sure you pick a class with speed boost signet. If not, get a full set of traveler’s runes. Consider that most of your time is spent simply running around so minimize your running time with speed.
2. It’s ideal to have a way to negate the first hits. Those are the ones that tend to slow you down, like knockbacks, etc… Anything that slows you down decreases your kills per hour.
3. Stacking damage effects. Lots of people will blow smoke up your but about how maximizing damage is the best way to optimizing your killing rate. That’s only partially true. What is as important is how many damage effects you can stack. It’s not relevant to increase your damage 5% on a mob that only takes 5-6 hits to kill . Effects that REDUCE the number of hits to kill a mob are most effective.
4. Ensure you have a way to finish the fight ‘clean’. The last thing you want is a condition on you AFTER the fight is over … Again, this slows you down.
5. Have a planned path through the zone and gather everything. Don’t farm the same area. Diminished Returns is active ingame.

There are no bats or minotaurs at that level in Frostgorge. Also i don’t like bats because you need long to kill them because of avoid avoid avoid → flee .. and minotaurs have a ton of hitpoints.
Skelks and Arctodus are what you can farm in Frostgorge for blood, claws and fangs.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
The Skelk around the JP are the best source I’ve found for T6 Blood. I’ve never been very successful at getting the Arctordus to drop them (might just be an RNG thing).
You would be MUCH better served farming for T6 items in Orr (Cursed Shore, Malchor’s). Heavy bags are a much better source (but are not as focused on specific mats).
As mentioned above, while Powerful Blood is quite high on the TP, farming pure gold and buying them may be a better use of your time.
