Does anyone have any tips for getting the title? I’m not sure why Fashion Collector is the one I want, although it may have something to do with the fact that I used to play a ton of Hat Fortress 2…..

I already know about creating/deleting toons to get their free skins and buying stuff on the TP cheap.

This here is a great guide: http://dulfy.net/2014/04/17/gw2-fashion-collector-title-guide/

I have the title but I also bought all gem store armors and hats and such and had a decent amount of dungeon and pvp skins.

How long did it take? Or how many gems and gold

Only a couple days after patch. I just bought all of the armors. In total it was about 200$

Many of the skins can be obtained via Karma (and some no other way). Many long term players spent millions of Karma right after the release (myself included). I honestly have no idea how close (or far) I am away from this Achievement….guess I should look into it (I may have it and just not be aware).

-Don’t buy karma armor right away, first check at the WvW vendors: they have a big variety of skins that you can buy at fairly low prices or for badges if you have them to spare.
-If you have dungeon tokens stashed, this might be a good occasion to spend them to unlock the weapon/armor skins you don’t have yet (for bonus: get the ones with uncraftable stats like Soldier’s/Magi’s/etc so you can salvage the inscriptions/insignias and sell for some gold)
-If you want to get some via drops instead of buying, running around Orr killing stuff can be a good idea: iirc mobs there can drop weapon skins from every other region on top of Orr-specific skins.

I have not found the above claim of what Orr enemies can drop to be accurate (but I just may be unlucky). There are some standard skins they can drop and then the Orr items, but there are some that can only be obtained as drops in specific areas (from my experience).

CERTAINLY do the research on how you can get skins before spending Karma due to it being more difficult to obtain these days. Keep in mind that the wiki data is supplied by players, not Anet, so the accuracy can be “questionable”….just a heads up.

The Orr drops are not frequent but I know for a fact I’ve dropped some basic Shiverpeaks, Krytan, Verdant and Ascalonian weapon skins the kind you’d get from killing mobs from those area.

The Orr skins are extremely cheap to buy on the TP. Just look for the Blue/Green versions that sell for 1 – 3 silver, tops.

Krytan, Shiverpeak, Glyphic and Steam weapons are also extremely easy to buy off the TP.

The T2 Cultural weapons (Aureate, Norn, Verdant and Flame) can be purchased for 50 – 100 Badges of Honor each in WvW. This is a rather cheap way of getting them as you generally don’t have much options to spend Badges on.

The T3 Cultural weapons can only be acquired with karma (although some Personal Story or named Exotics share skins with them).

The Exotic regional weapons (Ceremonial, Etched, Tribal and Legionnaire) weapons are only available from buying Exotics from the TP, so I suggest going for those last.

You can also learn each of the crafted armor skins and Rare weapon skins at each tier. You can also purchase the Lionguard, Ebon Vanguard and Pirate weapons for karma.

All in all, it all adds up fairly quickly. Trust me, there’s more than enough options in the game to get the title without ever needing to buy gem store skins.
