Guild Wars 2

Just curious real quick, I play 2 or 3 times a week so wanted a quick grind.

Haven’t unlocked reaper or Herald yet, does it take long to do or is it a few hours?

I imagine my MM will be much faster than my Rev to grind on due to rev having to facetank all and MM being able to staff/backline if needed…?

Masteries and hero points are two different things. Some hero points you can just channel, but most need a group and/or masteries to get too. Now as far as masteries go, how fast you unlock them depends on a lot of things.

1) Running XP boosters, food, utility, and a birthday/celebration booster will help alot.
2) Being on a populated map, I know this sounds crazy, but the amount of times if logged on, just to have the pop up asking to move to another server is crazy. And then you could end up in an empty map. This will hurt how fast you can get xp, as mobs give out little xp in HoT, and are quite tough to boot. Doing event chains is the best way to farm the XP.
3) having lots of time to play said chains. The masteries are just a time sink, they don’t really offer anything other than the ability to explore the maps fully.

So how long ideally to unlock the elites like reaper and Herald? What seems to be the fastest way to grind it all? Obviously assuming so have the boosters on…? Last little thing is what’s in the jungle etc is that just easy to get hero points etc?

Again, masteries and unlocking the specializations are two different things.

The fastest way to get all 250 hero points is to get to the hero challenges in the 4 new maps. They give 10 each, and there are about 11 per map.

Masteries require earning the points to be able to spend (through doing achievements) and earning the experience while training that mastery. There are several mastery farms, and searching youtube for ‘gw2 mastery farm’ will probably get you the most efficient place to get that.

I would say the revenant is easier to grind with. Jalis gives you swiftness/damage reduction/healing/AoE on command, Shiro gives dodges/quickness/swiftness/stun on command. Hammer lets you range well, while maintaining AoE tagging, and sword lets you DPS like a champ.

Do the story first. This will help you unlock the masteries you “need” then go back and start doing map completion. Masteries take an increasing amount of XP per level to unlock. So unless you play for hours, don’t expect to unlock them quickly.

Ok So complete hot story then go into hero point and mastery farming. He’ll I haven’t even finished the regular story on my rev and necro yet lol it goes on forever!!! I’ll try my rev first then try necro afterwards and see who I prefer for farming
