Yeah because day earlier and many days before I didn’t have such bad luck. So it makes me wonder, you know. Not to mention after January 28th patch many people noticed worse drops in fotm as many threads on this forum were mentioning. And lately there was something discovered in loot tables and you work on a fix (I hope). So something IS happening with loot. But ok, I’ll just believe that today my RNG sucked. Thanks for the reply.

Are you sure about it? Maybe you are misinformed or just lacking the details because it’s the Mike O’Brien who is secretly muddying the water? Maybe Mr. O’Brien flags players he dislikes – so they receive no/poor loot?

But I have to side with a lot of people here. Post Jan 28 update, something really seems amiss with the drops from FOTM. I’ve ran them enough since the update to gather an opinion on this.
I used to get a core or two or even maybe a lodestone from the Maw chest. Now if I get a core, it is once every 10-15 runs. Used to get a handful of rares per run. An exotic every 4-5 runs. Now, I’m luck to get one rare per run.
Could just be bad RNG for me since Jan 28. Could just be bad RNG for a lot of people since Jan 28. Just seems very weird and coincidental.
Of course, I’m one of those people who noticed the post Nov 15 update general loot drop rate decrease. Which supposedly never happened.
Not really complaining, but there definately appears to have been something that has happened to a lot of people.
I don’t see a lot of people. Just a few anecdotal reports with no statistical relevance. Like with every update.

Perhaps if the “maintenance” were explained a bit more, people would speculate a bit less. Of course there will still be speculation, but less of it, because we’ll have at least some idea of what actually happened. “No content changes” doesn’t really mean much to us, but “fixed some back-end Trading Post issues,” or “unstuck some events,” or “resized some tables in anticipation of upcoming changes,” or even just “rebooted the servers” would be better than “maintenance only. No content changes.”

I know that rng is rng but…i have been doing level 42 fractals and didn’t see any difference from lower levels. I mean, the 40’s bracket is one of the toughest available, usually runs take over 2.5 hours specially when you get dredge and Asura with parts that take 20 minutes to clear. Then at jade maw chest, i looted nothing but blues. Previous runs gave me rares which were 1 glacial core worth a total of 10 s or so. Does the better odds for loot on higher fractals only affect the daily rewards like rings and fractal weapons? Or does affect the quality of loot of monsters and chests too?
Honestly, in the amount of time that takes to run higher fractals, i would rather do normal dungeons which gives me a fixed reward, chance for chest and guaranteed 2 rares from the vendor to salvage. Maybe having fractals with a fixed money reward at end like dungeons, would be a good idea.

I just did an entire CoE run and didn’t even get ONE precursor. Clearly anet flagged my account for bad drops and permanent DR.

I did the same coe run and got 1 charged core. Which is worth around 1.3 gold. Together with the money from the dungeon, the tokens reward and the money from monster’s drops, i made around 2.5 g in 20 minutes or so. I would be luckly if i ever made more than 1 gold doing fractals. And even when i get lucky for an exotic, they are account bound.

I was running FotM every day from December until the January patch and I’d get at least 6 rares per run. Now I’m lucky to get 1. RNG doesn’t seem so random to me.

Maybe these thread appearing again and again and again might finally cause someone to think that maybe … just maybe … rewards in relation to effort spent are completely hello kitty.
Just ran FOTM 20, got 4 rares + bunch of greens/blues. No cores/lodestones though.
well, i did a lvl 38 run and got 10 rares and 2 exotics, post patch

Just did 10, got 4 rares, tons of green and blues, 30+ loot bags, some t5 mats from drops and one charged core.
So this is how loot works in GW2 the loot table in the mobs are all the same you can get every piece of gear in any ANY mob in the game and thats the problem, in other games that i´ve played(WoW Rift Tera Etc) the mobs have different loot tables some mobs give Z weapons/armor others mob gives you X weapon but in GW2 Every mob chest have the same loot table if anything is different is the % of the items for exemple in jumping puzzle chest you have 1% of getting a rare and 0.1% of a exotic on dragons chest you have 10% of getting a rare and 1% of a exotic piece in fractals you hace 15% of rares and 2% of exotic something like this, so this is why the loot is to Random(RNG) if you played WoW you know the chance of getting a rare mount from TK raid the exotics in here is almost the same, thats why the loot on this game is crap and thats why ppl say that MF dont work if you have 0.1% of getting a exotic from a mob with MF you have 0.2% whoa nice improve will be rich now… NOT
Besides i dont know if im the only one but im getting WHITES on fractals on boss and chests…
And is stupid at lvl 40+ be rewarded with blues, and i still dont understand why Anet says that you get better rewards at each level when you dont get anything new or different, so please fix the loot or tell us the true about loot.

I’m right after level 26 run. Got only 1 rare from the chest (maybe chests are broken?) and 1 from mob. Also 2 rares from greenies put into MF. Not bad, more acceptable than yesterday’s fail.
What is your experience?
these threads are great and show up everyday. in this case OP did three runs (edited to include a good 4th run), some posters are only giving data for 1 run, and are trying to extrapolate this to reveal an issue the overall RNG mechanic. Can’t be done.

But with that logic, there is no such thing as random because if you take a step back, it makes perfect sense.
Example: This random car went by.
Take a step back and look at the entire city’s views on things. The driver needed to get to someplace and took that road, therefore it was not random and was instead intentional (or unintentional, but still not random).
One can argue that a driver (still using the analogy for simplicity) can take “random” turns whenever s/he feels like it, but even that is not truly random as it takes inputs based off of previous experiences and current mental state which includes chemical balance and mental stability.
Additionally, there are a limit to the directions one can turn based off of roads and the limitations of a car, you can’t instantaneously do a 180, nor can you start taking 75 degree turns on every street you come across (unless your car is magically able to break through anything it drives across in which case you might as well have a magic car capable of making random turns).
there is a conversion factor between how many runs you did and how much credibility you have. for simplicity, let’s say it’s 1 credibility = 1 runs. This is likely off, but it’s just an example. that means that if you did 4 runs, you have 4 credibility. If you did 1000 runs, you have 1000 credibility. And like most currencies, you can’t buy something more valuable for less than it’s listed price
different claims cost different amounts of credibility:
get people telling you “better luck next time” = 1 credibility
start a post where you lay out your experiment and all it does is start a discussion on what rng is = 5 credibility
bring the conspiracy theorists out of the woodwork = 10 credibility
people start taking you seriously = 100 credibility
people agree that something is amiss = 1,000 credibility
you insight people to write emails to Anet demanding to know why they didn’t inform us of a change in drop rate = 10,000 credibility

Be honest. If you have a sample size of 10,000 runs and can offer detailed information on the drops and how they appeared abnormal? You’re probably going to be able to make a very good case enough to make ANet look twice. That sample size is not massive, but it’s not trivial either.

Ever heard of punctuation? I just wasted a minute trying to read this, shame on you. Anyway, as they said they have an analytics team, they’ll probably be able to check the loot too. Another indicator is the TP, have there been any relevant anomalies?

Another BUMP.
Today I made level 30 run. From end boss chests: 1 rare. I got 2 named exotics and 2 rares from mobs in the fractals. Now I can see it clearly that chests are seriously broken.
it’s always deny, deny, but sure as hell after the update to fotm I haven’t gotten a single ascended or exotic anything, whereas before, I got plenty. an ascended on every daily run. now, nothing. I thought I had done lvl 10 too much, but I’m at 20 now, and the green and blue junk just keeps coming. no point in even doing fotm without getting ascended gear and mist essence (which no longer drops for me either). sad panda.
