Where can I find them? I am trying to farm molten cores and I can’t seem to find them anywhere

Molten cores drop in the Citadel of Flame dungeon, at least on the explorable paths but maybe on the story as well (not sure, only did story once). Don’t expect many cores per run, I’ve been doing CoF path 1 and 2 most nights for the pass 2 weeks and got about 15 cores. They’re rare.

I know they drop in CoF, but on the wiki it says they also drop from fire elementals in medium-high lvl range

You’ll find some in and around Mount Maelstrom – not sure if they drop molten cores but they are levelled 60-70. I know they are in the Volcano bit itself and they might also be around Mon Maelstrom to the south – it’s been a while since I was there.

The fire elementals in Mt Maelstrom are named “Ember”, not sure if they drop molten cores. Never did for me at least.

I thought all mob fire elementals were called embers. The only exception is the big fire elemental in the reactor in metrica.

For the OP this page says there are also some in Malchor’s leap, I can’t remember where they would be but hopefully someone else will.

The only SECOND exception is fire elementals summoned by elementalists (either players or elementalist mobs) :-)

I think the fire elementals in Malchor’s Leap are only there during some event, can’t recall what or where exactly though.

True, true – but as an elementalist myself I never think of them as a mob – they’re more like a pet

Check the North of Fireheart Rise. There’s a field of them there.

Yes, in the NE section of Fireheart Rise. there are many, and near the dungeon entrance. However, I think FR is too low level (60-70) for cores to drop. I never got any when I explored this map …

When the Risen control Anchorage Waypoint in Cursed Shore, they are joined by a number of Embers. Not many of them, but it may be noteworthy because it’s a level 80 zone.

Also when you go to recapture shank anchorage there are about 10 embers inside that constantly respawn (very quickly) I’ve yet to do a shank anchorage where at least 1 person didnt walk away with a lodestone.

There are a few in Valley of Lyss in Malcor’s leap.
