Hey guys. I’m sort of a new player (Check post history) I’m the type who … basically never sits idle in a city. I’m either running my daily AC dungeons Path 1-3, or doing WvW/Farming in SW. I have under 50~ days.

This is how close I am:

Basically missing t6 mats + lodestones, bought dawn outright for 970g~

I, am sick… and tired- of farming SW. Since it came out, I have spent 40~ hours running around, tagging events, grinding chests, defending the bases, I am so-so-so sick and tired of farming that area.

By the looks of it, im about 490g~ off from my Legendary. I have $100 coming in on tuesday that will probably be going to 8,000 gems anyways, but I’d rather… have it set in stone that I can have a reliable farm for after I’m out of gold.

Is there anything else worthwhile besides running around SW/CS and bashing my face into that content?

Only suggestion I have is to relax a little. You will get there, and soon but if you want it yesterday you are going to stress yourself out. Also prepare for the big letdown after you get it, always happens because you no longer have a fixed goal.

You could consider running more dungeons? CoF 1 and 2, CoE 1, TA 1+2 and SE1 for example are pretty easy and shouldn’t take that long to do with a decent party.

I second Yargesh. Back off on the farming. You’re going to burn yourself out (already have, it seems). There’s no need to rush to finish a legendary.

I just finished my second legendary and I have to agree with everyone else… take your time getting there. I know, it’s easier to say when you aren’t working toward it. After I finished Predator I had to quit for a few months. It’s a common issue. Two of my friends finished their legendaries at the same time I did and we all got burnt out.

Since you’re probably going to go into some heavy farming anyway here are a few things to help yourself not go completely insane:
– Farming seems to be very odd in this game. Basically either you can do it and it works well or you get absolutely nothing for your time no matter how many hours you throw into it. I’m in the latter category. I can’t get a t6 item to drop to save my life. So my advice is try it out, but after an hour if you only have 1 through 3 tier 6 material(s) give up now.
- If farming isn’t working for you dungeons are your next best option. You’ll want to do as many as possible. Saving up everything (materials) for a few days while you live in dungeons will net you about 20 gold every third day. You’ll make about 15 to 35 gold doing every dungeon you can.
- Farming is also your friend. Iron sells well and so does platinum.
- Expand your materials space in the bank if you can afford it. Mine has been maxed out for awhile now, but you’ll do yourself a favor by having 1000 of every sort of mineral you need.
- Ectoplasm… Ectoplasm… Ectoplasm…
You saved yourself a lot of pain by doing the cloves already. That’s good, usually players forget they have to get about 500 ectos, not 250. Save these things though! If you’re making ascended armor as well you’ll not realize just how fast you burn through ectos.
- Obsidian Shards
Tequatl must die. Teq’s your first option for getting the karma together for the Obsidian Shards. Your next option is Edge of the Mists. Using these together you should be able to pull enough karma together in a week or three.

- Money and Materials
Elaborate Totems, Vicious Fangs, and Charged Cores are holding you back a bit. That’s an understatement, I know. There’s really no happy story for those, but at least it isn’t Ancient Bones; those things are like unicorns.
I’d focus on the Charged Cores or whatever that crystal thing is first. Currently, I believe they are up to something like 3.5 gold. That’s 3 dungeon runs per core or 2 hours of iron farming. 20 minutes a dungeon * 3 = 60. You need 193 crystals yet, so 193*20=3860 hours or 64 hours.

This sound a lot worse than it is. 193*3 = 579 gold. You can pull about 35 gold a day in just three hours playing so you’re looking at between 17 and 25 days if you suppose the crystals will cost you 625 gold.

Keep in mind this not including adventures into LS story at Dry Top or Silverwastes where the rewards from bags and chests (especially during sandstorms at Dry Top) give t6. Nor am I including things like random drops in dungeons, silk gains, and sails or anything else. I’m only supposing the bare minimum.

If you want to make yourself angry and hateful you could have this finished before Christmas.

I’d just take your time and you should have it done by mid-January. However, what I’ve said here is just the plan I’ve used for these things. A friend has done two legendaries in the time it took me to do just one, but they are doing a lot of speculating on the Trade Post. That’s a huge gamble and is an art unto itself, but they’re an economic student. They understand what they are doing. Also, the first time you do one is definitely slower than the second time. There’s a lot to learn. Don’t forget to 100% Orrian maps and other level 80 zones for a little extra boost to your expenses as well. I’ve just 100%‘d on my 8th character so I’m literally stuck in the grind feste for the rest of my GWs existence.

Oh! You’ll get something like 250,000 karma from 100%ing if WvW and Teq aren’t you’re thing and you’re taking your time about stuff. So that’s another option.

Charged cores are about 1.2g, i have over 100 crystals, and I have enough wine to convert the last 76 i’ll do (turning that into 38 lodestones)

I’ve been making 70g~ a day farming CS/SW, I guess I’m just bored. I’ll probably wait till this $100 comes in on tuesday.

I’m only missing T6 mats, 180 Ectos, and the 38 lodestones.

70 gold a day? No wonder you are tired. I would be beside myself if I made that in a week!

Someone already warned about the emptiness that follows the completion of the legendary. Don’t forget that there’s still much to experience in the game. If you need a break take one and come back when you are ready.
