Food: + Experience vs % experience
All food give +10% experience (unless it says +15% experience or +5% karma).
All the experience is from experience from kills. The karma is all karma sources.
Wow, so the foods that have the +10 experience tooltip and not the 10% experience tooltip actually do the same thing?
It’s just a bug, then?

It’s not a bug, it’s just an error on the people who wrote the descriptions. Honestly, them fixing that is very low on my list of fixes because the time spent fixing all of those could be spent doing much, much better things.
It would be nice, I had no idea it was % based either. I can’t imagine it being a hard fix. But thanks for the info!
It’s not particularly hard, it’s just a hassle and a waste of time. I’m sure if someone had spare time they could easily write a script to look through the code and fix it, but it’s still a waste of time.
It would only take a one line script using ack/grep + sed(or similar)…
I was under the impression that it wasn’t a percentage and that some foods did indeed give 10% and some only gave 10 points extra.
I’ll have to check this now, but it’s what I was led to believe by others.

That is incorrect. All foods give the stated number as a % in experience bonus. (Unless it’s +Karma.)
Aka, you can get +10% experience from kills, +15% experience from kills or +5% karma from all sources.
what Esplen said (and the wiki states) is right.
If you go to SouthsunCove with a lvl2 character, you get like 8 exp per kill. If you use +10 exp food, you still get 8 exp (or rounding up to 9?), not 18.
Just a minor tool-tip issue.
There are quite a few tooltip errors in food tooltips, I tried to gather them all in this topic.
Honestly, fixing them is not that hard. The community has compiled a list for ANet and all they need to do is have one person go change them. Even an intern could do that. Before lunch.
