Guild Wars 2

Does this paper have any significance? It is in a broken furnace type structure in Lions Arch (as seen in the mini-map). I’ve searched around the web and asked many level 80’s if it is part of the lore late game. They couldn’t explain it either. I thought maybe it was a lost sheet from Scarlet Briar’s papers, the person who is responsible for the destruction of Lions Arch. I feel i am wrong on the assumption so any clues or answers would really help. I hope this is the right forum to post on. I am just MAJORLY interested what others have to say. Thanks in advance!

Is that the site of the old bank? When the bank was broken during the attack, there was a lot of trash and stuff around. Without going into the game and see, I think it’s just debris.

It’s the only thing in it and its being guarded by two Lionguards on both sides. I highly doubt its just debris.

lol, if its actually a bank that makes sense. But how did you figure it out?

That’s the old bank and there were IOU papers all over the place, it’s just a little piece of paper that has no significance what-so-ever on the lore or story.

IOU = I OWE YOU. meaning they borrowed money and will maybe pay it back one day lol.

Maybe, but seeming as it is written in Elonian Krytan (and no one knows how its read yet) how did you figure it out? Ok, now that i got un-confused it makes full sense lol, thanks for the help.

Maybe its an inside joke and they are fans of sherlock tv series.

I think maybe, just maybe, IOU’s existed before TV.

That’s the bank vault.

When Lion’s Arch was destroyed the vault was cracked open and there was a big pile of money inside it. When the Lion Guard secured the city (with help from us) they were guarding the pile, but apparently didn’t do a very good job because shortly afterwards it was replaced with this.

Unless the Lion Guard “borrowed” the money to help with the rebuilding.

this is the same alphabet SAB uses. you know all those symbols in the chat boxes above character’s heads. also the symbols on the shield of the logo.
(the shield symbols translates to SUPER ADVENTURE BOX)

Wasn’t an easter egg, these were flying all over the city during that part of the living story, it is literally trash.

If it was an Easter Egg, then Evon was the one that made off with the bank stash.

If there are others lying around, then it’s trash….if this is the only one left in the area, it’s an Easter Egg….

Maybe the Lion Guards are guarding it because it’s a piece of evidence against Evon Gnashblade. He was more concerned about getting his trading post goods out of LA during the attack than the people getting killed around him. Suspiciously concerned imo. Just who were those IOUs made out to I wonder? If they were his IOUs to the bank and then they all “disappeared” except one he missed, that’s a nice little amount he doesn’t have to pay back.

There were hundreds of them flying all over the place and all over the ground during the first phase of that Living Story.
