I was wondering if a soulbounded Prototype Fractal Capacitor (Ascended) becomes account bound when I upgrade it to a Beta Fractal Capacitor (Infused). Because I want to give the capacitor to another character of mine.

I think it does. I upgraded mine to the last step today (Fractal Capacitor) and it was again account bound and said “Soulbound on use”. So I think it is usable by another character.

Does no one knows the answer? I can’t imagine that no one noticed the backpiece becoming account bound/soul bound after upgrading it.

Well technically, the Prototype Capacitor and a Beta Capacitor are two completely different items right? So I would guess when you use your prototype to make the beta it will not be soulbound.

I have been wondering this exact thing, i have the rare nonascended protype fractal capacitor on my thief, when i ascend it, can i equip the acended one on my elementalist? Cause technically it becomes whole different item as Boss.3876 said.
