With regards to the fractal question no you don’t need to do fractals to craft the gear.

Hi thank you very much for your reply,
This seems to be very usefull information however I’m affraid its still somewhat chinese for me =D.
So my plan is to make a d/d ele for roaming in wvw.
I would need light celestial armour for that.
I’m assuming I need to level up tailoring … correct?
And also it doesnt mention anything about how to chose celestial stats, is it a option i can chose from when i’m actually crafting the armour pieces?
sorry for all these newbie questions, but i’m really having a hard time figuring these things out :p
Firstly you need to get to level 500 in Tailor.
You also need to make some charged quartz crystals – http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Charged_Quartz_Crystal I’d start now so you have enough when you start crafting.
Then you need to buy the following recipes – http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Celestial_Intricate_Gossamer_Insignia – can be purchased from the TP
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Wupwup_Celestial_Insignia – purchased from the master craftsman
Then you need to buy the armour piece recipes from the master craftsman. That will tell you how many of each item you need to craft, to craft that piece of armour.

hey there
You’ll need:
- tailor 500 (not really a problem from 0 to 400, from 400 to 500 it’ll cost a bit… you’ll basically need to discover 20-25 exotic recipes and craft them, which means 5 ectos each+ other T6 mats)
- buy the “wupwup” ascended recipes (celestial stats, you can look it up on gw2 wiki) from the tailoring npc vendor
- get all the materials for the craft itself (bunch of stuff, see guide ^^")
I can detail all this more if you need, ofc :P
Also, if your goal is WvW you might want to craft exotic instead of ascended. Ascended gear is really needed only in high levels fractals (for the agony resistance). The %difference between exotic and ascended is laughable :P
gaaah AdaephonDelat beat me to it!!! :P

Yeah but combine the two and it makes a decentish guide. OP combine Arianhod’s info with mine and you should be set (their guide is better laid out, mine has links. All works out!).

Oh thank you both for helping me out :p,
I did some research aswell and I guess you guys are right about exotics/ascended stat % difference isnt a big deal however it might be a nice goal to archieve to keep me interested in the game though
Thanks again for all your help

It is a great “end game” goal. I would strongly suggest saving all the mats you get. Plus, when you get to level 80, and have maxed tailor, doing the events in Silverwastes and dungeons will be a good way to get silk (from salavaging) and gold.
Remember you’ll need a metric ton of silk. And it’s expensive on the TP. Try not to get discouraged, and do those things that generate silk and gold and you’ll be fine.
You can also do “karma conversion” to get some of the cloth materials you’ll need. So as you are leveling, and doing events and saving up karma, there are some heart vendors that sell cloth items. Buy 4 of them and toss them in the Mystic Forge and salvage the results. Doing this for linen is very popular, and I occassionally do it for silk, cotton, and wool. This will save some of the costs in coin.
Good luck!!
It’s the chain I beat you with until you
recognize my command!”
